They should just license...

the likeness and rights to use Tweety from Looney Tunes (Warner Brothers) as the image of the company logo. that would be nice.

why?

Why would they just not develop a native app themselves? Why go out and buy up a company? Makes no sense... obviously they have a development team... this is just strange.

And, the big reason I ask why is because the Twitter API is so small... there isn't a ton of API calls! It's a tiny tiny app compared to other stuff out there (FB, MySpace, etc).

Don't get Soundjam'd

I'm not sure how I feel about this. On the one hand, Tweetie for free is excellent.

On the other, this is going to hurt 3rd party Twitter clients (such as Twitterriffic) or dilute Tweetie's advantage over other clients as well.
Sometimes I wonder whatever happened to email/I'M. What exactly is so great about twitter, essentially it's no different than txt msg, it's limited to 160 characters.
I feel the same way about MySpace & Facebook, why isn't email good enough, pictures...
