Go to RadioShack. We have been doing this for months. Customers can trade in unwanted phones regardless of carrier and get a RadioShack Giftcard. Most phones get between $10 and $50. Some get as much as $200 - $300. It is a great tool to help customers buy the phone they really want and did not think they could afford.

this isnt new from Sprint, I believe they have had the buy back program for quite some time.
Headline a little misleading
It's more of a trade in program, and it mainly is used toward "in store" credits toward accessories, phones, etc. The account credit sometimes is an option but if you are the customer i wouldn't go into the store expecting it. Also it cannot be done in the store unless you are purchasing a phone, because it really is more of a trade in program. For example, someone couldn't just walk in to the store with an old phone & have a credit put on their acct for what it is worth.
Yep! Its a trade in thing! Credit goes towards phone purchase and accessories. Anything left over is credited to account.

I went to the web page, put in my account number and the first condition was:
Sprint cannot provide an account credit to a customer for units that were not previously active on their account(s).
However phones from other provides, like the iPhone, are on the list. Which is it?

Customers turning in devices from other carriers MUST be porting in from that carrier. The buyback website is different from in store buybacks, different rules. The ones displayed in the article are in-store specific policies.
