Motorola...

Hard to believe this is the same company that brought us the RAZR, KRZR, SLVR, Q, and V Series phones. They may have had crap software but they at least had hardware that was a notch above everyone else in terms of design...

not anymore, apparently.
Well what about the Droid? Are you saying that was crap hardware?

You know whats troubling?

Ok, the first few posters said that moto has not made a quality phone since the razr....first of all the general consensus on that phone is that it sucked, despite my own expirience which was positive. They made the w755 which really has not had problems and is a solid phone as is the u204.

Moving on, they have been working on these a long time, i remember hearing about kodack and moto working on a 5 mp camera in a time long before Iphone came out, now they come out with phones capable of offering a comparable device to the Iphone and you all trog and flame, anyone who has used the droid knows how bad ass it is, or they havent used it long enough...I'm impressed daily with all aspects of it.

They are releasing lower end android phones...

I've used the Droid, it's like the HTC Mogul or Blackberry Storm- lengthy hardware specs that are less than the sum of all the parts.

Best of all is how you mention the 5MP camera which the tech editor of the Chicago Sun-Times found performs notice...

Optical trackpad in the far left?

Am I seeing this right? The optical trackpad is in the far left corner?

Excuse me for making sense, but shouldn't the optical trackpad be in the bottom center? Rather than bottom left.
It iss odd. I can only assume they're making it more convenient when using the keyboard. Perhaps they have some research that shows the pad is used more in concert with the keyboard. People might just use the touch screen and bypass the pad altoget...

True. Long as it isn't more than $100 with a contract, it's all good.

it looks really cool

but im so skeptical of motorola phones. i have the same problem with the droid. i love android sooo much but im not a fan of moto. this phone design is damn near perfect to me.
Well...Mobile World Congress is in 11 days, so we'll all be looking forward to seeing what HTC unveils there for Android.
I like the layout of Devour better than that of Droid. Just wish it wasn't so rectangular.

LCD resolution lower than Droid

While the Droid's LCD is slightly larger (3.7" vs. 3.1" for the MOTOBLUR) The Droid has almost double resolution for a stunning viewing wxperience. Droid has 480x854 pixels vs. 320x480 for the Newer BLUR.
How come?
The Droid is high end. This is more in the mid-range.

Devour only has Android 1.6!!!

Gosh! Brand new device not even in stores yet and it isn't even packing the latest version of Android!
So? It still supports navigation and whatnot. Now, if it was launching with 1.5, then I might be a bit more concerned.
It's because it is running Motoblur. Motoroloa most likely doesn't have a version of 2.x for motoblur yet, so until they do they are sticking with the 1.6 (the update will come)

Or even the second-latest version for that matter...

Who is in charge of product names at moto?

They should be fired. I'm glad to see the end of the unnaturally-shortened silliness of the RAZR, KRZR, and ROKR, but this is getting insane. Crush? Devour? Karma? WTF?
It's part of the plan to Crush their enemies and Devour their entrails. They'll take the Karma hit in the next life.

Doesnt this look like

the quickfire that AT&T had, and we know how much problems they had. Granted that it wasnt made by motorola but it does have a similiar form factor
I thought it looked like the Sidekick Slide...

Is it me?

Looking at most motorola droid phones they look cheap. it might be me but they do look like a little cheap phone you would buy your kids to play with.

I've been trying to hold out on giving my opinion on the android but damn. They floading the market. I don't know if its a good thing. I like to be unique myself. Its getting old quick. ☚ī¸
well look how much windows mobile devices are out there and they have been thriving for years, android is just trying to give the market the options that window's mobile does with their variety of options. And variety is the spice of life 🙂 And andr...
