If ATT -tested- their network like Verizon does these sorts of problems could've been fixed a long t

On a sidenote, surd would be nice if ATT added ethernet to cell towers here in Las Vegas.

Just an over all more aggressive company with it's network would be be nice.
I wasn't aware of any network difficulties in Vegas, Jay. Consider this...a guy has congestive heart failure and someone notices he has a mole on his back. Which operation should he have first? The triple bypass or the removal of the mole?

Let's clear up some misconceptions here...

1) AT&T handles something like 80-90% of ALL mobile data on their networks, way more than Verizon Wireless. On top of that, something like 80% of all mobile traffic on the internet originating from the USA...

So Verizon is the only carrier that drive tests their network? Then why are data speeds so poor in the Portland, OR market? or why do phones go to "extended network" in Downtown Seattle. If it is like this here in the Northwest which is one of their b...

If true, good news

I am a Verizon Wireless customer and I sincerely hope that AT&T is successful in NYC and elsewhere.

The simple truth is that as AT&T gets stronger, it forces VZW and other carriers to ratchet up their game and offerings.

Pathetic!!!!!!!!!

How it could have gone that far in the first place for a carrier that prides itself with coverage is tragic. ๐Ÿ˜ข
Uh...Any company with that kind of explosive growth is going to end up the same way. There weren't thousands of people that switched over to them, there were millions.

I approve!

I think this is what AT&T should be doing with its money. They should resist the temptation to run off and build 3G towers in North Dakota and instead shore up their metropolitan area which are over-taxed by bandwidth hogging subscribers. Great move, AT&T! You guys are finally making sense.
The way I see it, the only good way to deal with increasing data usage is to get that traffic onto the wired backbone as quickly as possible, so adding ethernet to the cell sites is a good choice. They should also make it easy to switch over to their...

Azeron, aren't you with Verizon?

the Slappies here are getting boring.. everyone assumes T has no plans and is flying by the seat of their pants.. The truth is-
They picked up a ton of markets from divested VZW and Alltel. Almost all of North Dakota (along with a ton of other market...

won't last

Landline will become the big push again and then it will still suck. NYC and SF are only 2 areas in the US. Good luck at&t with the rest of everything and getting stomped by everyone's else 4G network.

It's all about perception. They are never going to have the reputation that Verizon has, but at least now they appear to be doing something.
You do realize that there's capabilities as companies to do this magical thing called 'multi-tasking'. Just because they're concentrating on improving coverage somewhere doesnt mean all other things are abandoned...

For most of ATT 2mbps is still nothing but a dream.

Verizon is at least 1yr ahead of ATT w/4G, and Sprint/Clearwire is at least 2yrs ahead of ATT w/4G.

ATT's CEO & CTO are full of procrastination, and lack vision.
