ATT got more smartphones, but

waiting for loading loading loading for webpages to load on edge! hahahaha

all i need is my Droid! haha
that old junk iphone is getting boring now!
Hang on...the iPhone is awesome, it really is. As is the Droid.

Having said that....the realy sad part ofr Apple is ATT.

If the network (ATTs) worked as smoothly and simply as the hardware (iPhone), life would be perfect.

Sadly....the iPhone...

IS THIS TRUE???

I heard/read that Verizon's 3G map includes its slower data network, Rev. O... I believe it's called that. I've never had a Verizon phone because quite honestly they've never had any phones worth my interest. Granted I considered them when they got the slew of Messaging devices... I'm not a tech-nerd, biased employee or critic, what I am is just a normal consumer who has AT&T and has loved the service I got. This ad has caught my attention and I'm curious.

What about that other data network I have on my phone, EDGE... I keep reading that it is comparable, even faster than some of the network that Verizon uses... Is there any truth to this?
Let me help clear some things up with you. First, the entire 3G footprint on Verizon's network is full EVDO (Rev. A). It is backward complatible for devices that are limited to Rev. 0 The slower part of their network is the regular CDMA. CDMA is p...

Its funny how they never attack sprint

First of all, I work for a retailer that sells verizon, at&t, and sprint. Here is the true breakdown.
62% of at&t's total US coverage is 3g
47% of verizon total US coverage is 3g
99% of sprint's total US Coverage is 3g, and 14% of their coverage is 4g compatable.

What is even worse is when I was in katanaing PA, I was getting more roaming verizon coverage then my fiance was with her verizon phone, my pre had 5 bars roaming her ENv2 had 3. At&t has more 3g coverage and it is faster, however verizon has more 2g coverage.

Verizon is being slammed by the fed government on 2 occasions.
1.) Claiming their entire map is 3g(which is false) and that the fact their map has 1 solid color indicating full coverage when they do not. Falsifyin...

Verizon can care less about Sprint. Verizon is laughing at Sprint, cause they know they are one short stick from going out of business. So Sprint is no concern of Verizon.

Was this a prank thread lol. 🙄

Is this some sort of joke?
CDMA2000 (National Access or 1x) IS 3G. Verizon doesn't make this up. The 3G forum does. So yeah, their entire network is 3G. The entire network is not EV-DO certainly, but I don't think they ever specified which 3G in the commercials.

By the w...

This is either a joke or this person doesn't know wtf he is talking about... Everything about this post is false!!
How do you figure that AT&T has more 3G than Verizon? I mean really! I even had AT&T before so not only do I have maps but I have personal experience with poor 3G with AT&T. Verizon definatly has more 3G.

And if 62% of AT&T's coverage is 3G than...

AT&T should thank Verizon...

...And send a letter of such.

It is said that a business should thank their competition more than their friends.

A friend will mostly hold back insults or constructive criticism in respect to not hurt your feelings. A competitor will not. They will be relentless and go out of their way to bring you down. If not for a competitor, A business would become lazy. Nothing would go forward.

That is exactly what has happened here.

AT&T has sat on any advancements to benefit their subscribers. What they have successfully done is completely relied on their friends(New and current subscribers for the iphone) and essentially perceived this as a compliment for their services and being the best. Verizon has detected this and zoomed in on the ...

I don't think AT&T will respond until they actually start losing customers. AT&T won the 3rd quarter. Do you truly believe they are going to spend cash to build out (rather than enhance) their 3G? As long as consumers are signing up for the iphone ...

This is one of the better comments I've seen so far. Verizon is the one who finally spoke up and basically said "Hey AT&T, the truth hurts man, but I gotta say, your 3G coverage SUCKS!"

It is AT&T's fault for not enhancing and expanding their net...

sigh...bad for ATT

ATT missed a golden opportunity to take revenue from iPhone to expand 3G coverage and strengthen infrastructure.
What a shame... 🤭
In most major cities AT&T broadcasts 3G on multiple spectrums (they've done this as of 2009) , Verizon Wireless's 3G Network only broadcasts on one. Although it's been criticized, AT&T's 3G network is significantly more robust in densely populated are...

Let's Get Ready To Rumble..

In this corner a company with far less 3g coverage sporting an Iphone, and in this corner a company with boring phones trying to catch up with the iphone but has great 3g coverage. Now America Are You Ready.... I said Are You Ready? Let's Get Ready Tooooooo Rumble...! 😎
I know they are new to the market, but the Droid and Droid Eris are both very exciting phones that Verizon offers. With those phones having better capabilities (in many aspects, but not all) than the iPhone and the undisputed better network to use th...

Verizon just admitted they mixed up coverage vs. quality

"AT&T failed to invest adequately in the necessary infrastructure to expand its 3G coverage to support its growth in smartphone business, and the usefulness of its service to smartphone users has suffered accordingly"

Verizon Wireless just admitted they're mixing up 3G coverage vs. 3G quality.
Coverage quality sucks without quality coverage....
...
What are you talking about? Not only did Verizon say AT&T's 3G network COVERAGE lacks, but the 3G coverage that IS THERE has been expanded so poorly, it can't support smartphones. Verizon clearly attacks both the COVERAGE AND QUALITY of AT&T's netwo...

AT&T absolutely failed to invest in their 3G network. As early as 2004 during the AT&T Wireless aquisition the talk was "UMTS can come later, no need to invest now". AT&T Wireless was already doing the UMTS thing but Cingular was not interested in t...

Remember 2003?

This is 2003 all over for Verizon Wireless and they did the same thing when the launched Push to Talk with Nextel. Verizon ads were all about the bigger push to talk coverage are compared to Nextel. This was true, but with most people needing or using push to talk were already covered by Nextel, and their service was much better in the push to talk category. In the end I think Verizon was the one that got burned.

VZW at this point (Nov 2009) does have more of its towers transmitting EV-DO Rev. A ready than AT&T's WCDMA (HDPA) network.

Bottom line is this is an Ad gimmick on VZW's part. Will they get burned time will only tell. 😉
...it is an ad gimmick. If it were not working so well, AT&T would not be so upset. They had to respond.

Gotta pay the Piper sometimes.......

All the frustration I've ever had dealing with them is gone....
This will have positive outcomes for everyone .....really. At&t will have to improve their network now or risk losing customers. Verizon will be forced to keep chugging on and keep their network ahead of the game.
