Not quite sure...

But WiMAX in a lesser form is already active in parts of the world including USA. So I think this IEEE802.16(e) WiMAX standard is not the WiMAX Clear is currently rolling out. I believe the IEEE802.16(m) is to upgrade the lower standard to create the larger footprint needed to converge world interoperability for WiMAX. This could also be made for an easier merge with LTE. Can someone clarify?

So does this mean that theres a 2nd gen. Wimax thats 2x's faster than the original?

I am pleased by any WiMax support. I want Clear to succeed. I can't wait until they reach my area.
