I'm curious where carriers get the idea. . .

I'm curious where carriers get the idea that Android apps need to be made to work on they're network. Apps are made to work on a perticular OS, not a perticular carrier! People who own an Android device on Sprint should have an exact same experience with apps as those who own Android devices on Tmo.

...only that they'll access net data way faster and more reliably... but fundamentally the same indeed.
My impression is that Sprint is mostly courting Sprint developers to develop for Android, not the other way around.

The Next Step!!

This is good, yes the OS needs spacific things not network complaint, but there are so many network related things that will allow the APp's to run better with fewer bugs if they know how to relate them to the network perimeters.
