Why don't all of us turn to prepaid providers?

That way, the big companies will either be forced to lower their prices, or be forced to just provide the tower space....but if they do that, won't they just charge these MVNO services more to use their network? I just wonder how this whole system works sometimes lol
The reason the "big companies" charge so much is because of that, they are big and require a lot more work on our network than these leeches. Also we offer more phones at a much lower price so even though you are only paying $40 a month, you end up p...

I've never heard of Page Plus, and yet they're national.

I swear if there were an unlimited national carrier that had quad band GSM and dual band HSPA that roamed off of AT&T's network I would leave AT&T. I like my Nokia
N95-3 way too much. But ...

$40 a month

For $40 a month I get unlimited talk, text, pic message, long distance, Internet, directory assistance, caller id, VM, call waiting, and all that good stuff. 😉
Let me guess though its with crappy cricket or metro pcs. Which both still do not have a reliable network. But hey if it works for ya. I can grty you though this plan is much more reliable!

Data Transport

I looked hard at switching three of my four lines from Verizon but some things give me pause. The 20MB for data transport will not be enough for me and that uncertainty gives me pause. It's unlimited talk and text but not pix etc... I also have concernes about the billing. I think I am going to have to stick it out with VZW until it is time to buy new equipment.
Hi there most verizon phones work for talk text and pix! Web browsing usuallly needs manual changes made. I know i wasnt porting from verizon which could be more involved but most verizon clear esn phones work fine. And the 20mb's gives 200plus pic me...

Again to reiterate how great this is and ive had pretty much every carrier.

No problem porting. Reps in the us. Coverage is NOT limited to a home calling area its nationwide. Great price and pretty much most verizon phones will work as long as esn is clear. Talk, text, and mms(pic messages) should work on most. Web browsing not grtyed here is a good link http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t= 1559177. Verizon is really helping themself by providing this to the market. Im sure there getting a piece of the pie. The reps at pp just wont tell you a whole lot or that they can grty support for verizon handsets but most shouldnt be a problem. But there will be a few. Hope this helps. I highly recommend. Also the 20 mb of data given should be sufficient for at least 200 or so pics a month or data 🙂 Almost too good to...

Page Plus or T-mobile unlimited for $49.99

What would you do? I am able to get the T-mobile unlimited for $49.99 on there loyalty program. However it doesn't include text or internet and it requires a contract (I'm adding onto my parents line than transferring into my name).

Page Plus: $39.99 per month

T-mobile: $49.99 plus tax
My port from Tmobile was quick and easy. Im using one of there branded phones the lg6100 I know you can use any Verizon phone which is all well and good but its hit and miss on the picture messaging working. If you dont use one of there branded phones...

At the current rate that prepaid providers are dropping their unlimited prices, the only reason to sign a contract with any company is for a subsidized handset.

You'd be better off picking out a Verizon phone, paying full price for it, and activa...

Leap wireless ( Cricket )

45buk a month for
unlimited calls and unlimited mobile web.
... and a far more limited coverage footprint. I have no experience with this company, but $40 is a great deal for Verizon-level national coverage.
Lol im sorry but cricket is a joke. Still spotty coverage and way overpriced equipment. Im assuming you work for them. I know diff things for different people. But this is way better in more ways then one.

Roaming on prepaid

Just remember, change the setting on your phone to home only to avoid the .59 per minute.
MetroPCS is .19 per minute but you sacrifice Page-Plus coverage for Metro's pockets of coverage.
If they include the direct unlimited international calling for an extra $5.00/month like Metro, this company will definitely rock!!!!! 🙂
Or they'll realize how much money they are losing after a while and change that.

Page Plus Coverage Map

I just visited the Page Plus website and the coverage map they have listed is the Verizon map pre-Alltel merger. I wonder if this is because that is all that they negotiated for or if the map is out of date?
Map is out of date.
Pre Alltel merger map. They have an article dated in April that states their coverage has expanded since January due to the merger.

So Far so good. Hopefully though now THEY will get newer phones as well

My port from Tmobile was quick and easy. Im using one of there branded phones the lg6100 I know you can use any Verizon phone which is all well and good but its hit and miss on the picture messaging working. If you dont use one of there branded phones. Next important thing when ive called them they are in the us and speak clear english so no irritation there. And the website is user freindly. Seems like they were prepared for this launch unlike some other companies. Of course the coverage is great the best ive had actually. And at this price cant be beat. Now give it some time hopefully and they will up the ante on there handsets. Hope this helps some thinking about PagePlus.
