Phone Picture Media Types

Can the LG Octane phone support most of the picture media type such as JPG, GIF, TIFF or does it only support a proprietary to the LG Octane? The Verizon rep I spoke to said it may not support all of the types. I want to upgrade from the phone I have and plan on transferring the pictures via the MicroSD memory card method.

LG Octane auto-reset problem

I am having the auto-reset problem with the LG Octane. It seems to power cycle about every 20 seconds I have been through 3 different Octanes now and all of them have done it. I previously owned a Droid and in reading some other posts, it seems to be a common link. I can't afford the $30/month data package any more, but want to keep my current number. I really like the feel of the Octane, so I want to keep the phone, but surley would like it to work for me.

Has anyone found a definitive solution to this problem yet?

Retrieving pictures

What is the best way i.e. cheapest, to get pictures out of this phone?
1. Send them via text message to an email address (.25 per if you don't have a texting plan)

2. get a microSD card, and then you can transfer them to that and send directly to a computer (just cost of card)

Great 1st phone for my teenager

I bought this phone for my son because of the huge keyboard. My son texts me when school is out so I know where to meet him. These kids are now experts with mobile devices! I had to limit his capabilities by having VZW turn off the internet.

thank you for finally reviewing

I've had these in my store for a couple weeks and haven't been very willing to sell them without knowing how they actually act in the real world. knowing that they excell in messaging and reception is great knowledge to have especially where i live

corrections

The Octane still has a favorites key. It's the shift key, with the icon of a contact with a star above the word shift.
Also, the env3, which is still available, does provide threaded text messaging with the "view by contact" option in the message settings menu.

'Bout time--

--the env3 got a replacement. One of the best phones Verizon & LG have ever released.
