Umm ...

It's quite strange that VZW has chosen to roll this out on the single BlackBerry in their lineup with a truly unlocked internal GPS, yet they're still (for the time being) leaving those of us with any other VZW handset in the dark as far as Canadian navigation is concerned. Plus $20/month is quite steep. Garmin Mobile for BlackBerry works with the Storm's internal GPS and costs only $80 for the lifetime of the device!
Umm… It is only released on the 9530 as it is the newest global phone in the Blackberry lineup. I have a feeling that the 8830 will not be around much longer as it is almost 3 years old… Also, if you read the posting, ...

You must also add global web for $64.99/month at least for the time that you are using it. Could get costly, but I guess convenient.
Are you sure you can't just data roam at a per-kilobyte or per-megabyte rate? When I travel to Canada, I can use data without any additional data plan at a charge of $2.05 per MB.
