Ringtones?

Anyone have a reliable way to get ringtones onto the Intensity II other than buying the crud Verizon sells?

I have been able to send SOME mp3 files to the phone in multimedia messages and assign them as ringtones, but some work and some don't.

The difference betweens ones that work and ones that don't work isn't the file size, but I haven't been able to figure out what makes some files work and some not work.
I would suggest looking on PhoneZoo or something like that for ringtones. The ringtones you cannot get, I would suggest either recording or seeing if one of your buddies has them. I was frustrated with Verizon on the same occasion, only the phone I us...

Turning off vibrate

For receiving text messages, is it possible to turn vibration off. I would like to enable a truly silent, vibrate-free mode.
Vibrate on/off is a separate menu choice under Sound Settings - Alert Sounds - Text Message

Battery Life/SB time

I hear mixed reviews about the battery life and stand-by time. Is it accurate to what the VZW specs say, or is it worse?
I do not use my cell too much, but I charged mine the day I received it and it lasted a full week. During that time I used about 1 hour of talk time, sent and received about 50 texts, and took about a dozen pics.
Hope that helps.

LG Cosmos vs. Samsung Intensity II

I am a Verizon user and trying to replace an old Razor lip phone. I appreciate the in depth review of the Samsung Intensity II and Pantech Jest (which I have eliminated based upon your review) but found very little on your site for the LG Cosmos.

I am a basic phone and texting user looking for good calling qualities (connection, voice, etc,, )good battery life, 1000 contacts (with multiple #'s, ect.)along with apps for alarms, calendering, stop watch, to do list, and note pad.

Considering these features can you offer a review of the LG Cosmos and a comparison of these 2 feature phones?

Thanks in advance for your assitance.

Requires $10 data?!

What were they thinking?!! Went into BestBuy the other night to pick one of these up. Then they tell us that it now requires a data plan because it has a faster processor. What the heck? Who would pick this over the way better midrange phones like the EnV Touch, Samsung Reality, EnV3, Chocolate Touch, etc? Good thing they still had a couple Intensity I's in stock.
I'm sorry, but you were misinformed. This phone does not require a $10 data plan. I got mine 1 week ago from Verizon.

Unlocking Bluetooth

I have the Samsung Intensity from Verizon and would like to know how to unlock the Bluetooh on it so that I can receive ringtones, songs, etc from other cell phones. If anyone knows how to do this please let me know.
not going to happen the way you think.... however there are some work arounds

1. and the easiest... just send song clips to yourself as an mms message... tons of ways to do this, you can get a cutter and make your own or there are plenty of sights....
