Speakerphone Use

I currently have the LG lx-350. It has a speakerphone feature. But you have to have the phone open to use it. My friend has a phone that lets him use the speakerphone with the phone still closed. Can the 5600 work while the phone is still closed?

Couple of Questions....

I have a couple of questions regarding the Sanyo 5600.

1. If I use a bluetooth adapter like the Jabra 210, will I get to use the Speaker Independent Voice Dialing and get the full functionality out of it.

2. Is there a desktop charger out there for 5600. I know they make them for other Sanyo model handsets. Do you think the others would fit the 5600. Thank you.

USB cable and mass storage problem

Yes another person confused with the whole usb link to the computer thing.
Anyway mine is related to an anoying error that seems to be preventing me from safely stopping the mass storage device. I am getting 2 different variations of the error message and I will put them below.

Title: "Problem Ejecting USB Mass Storage Device"
Body: "The device 'Generic volume' cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping the device again later."

The second is much the same except it says a program is still using it, instead of try again.

I tried shutting down explorer but my computer went blank and i had to turn it off, I tried using it again and without even putting anything on it or opening any programs I tried to safely remove it again and the sa...

To buy or not to buy?

I am looking at buying the 5600. I would like a phone that I can listen to music while I run & not have to take my MP3 & my cell. In reading some of these posts I am wondering if this is the right phone or if I should wait for something better. I'm not real fond of the size of this phone...TOO bulky.
Thanks 🙂
Well this is the only MP3 player phone sprint has to offer unless your going to another carrier. In my opinion I like big phone and hate the little small ones so everyone has a different opinion. I just hate when the be long and skinny like my 5300....

Discontinued?

A friend of mine wanted to pick up the 5600. I have it and he really likes it. Anyway, he walked into a Sprint store yesterday and they said it has been discontinued.
I was told by a Sprint store manager that some of the high end phones like the 5600 are no longer being shipped to the stores. The stores will have a display model and if someone wants to buy one they will direct ship it to them.
I just got a warr...

Video ringtones on the 5600

I am trying to use my 5600 USB connection to upload ringtones. I know the 5600 is not set up to do this in a straighforward manner, and that I am supposed to save audio files as m4a files, send them through focus (or other sites) so that I can download them into my phone. But I live in an area (Alaska) that does not support the PCS Vision features of my plan (that I am paying for). So, I can't do this.

I understand the video ringtone feature of the 5600 may be a way around having to upload m4a files. Apparently, any file I can save as a 3g2 file is supposed to be available to the 5600 as a ringtone. There are many conversion programs out there that convert MP3, MP4, WAV and many other formats to 3g2. After converting my MP3 I have followe...

cell phone management tool in CompUSA

Hi, my friend bought a software called cell phone management tool from CompUSA store in Dallas, Texas. She tells me this is the only software (cable included) can let me to edit video or MP3 ringtone to my Sanyo phone. So far there is NO other data kit or cable can do such things for Sanyo phone. The product is called Handset Manager software, they also have different product linesfor different phones, such as Motorola Razr. The cable also charges the phones!
Anyone knows where I can buy in Jersey area or New York area?
Becuase I went to 3 CompUSA stores, they just told me all this items were just sold out!?
I really want this product, can anyone help please? Thank you very much!

DataPilot Supports MM-5600!!!

Ok latest 3.10 update for DataPilot now supports the MM-5600!!!
Yeah, but it doesn't support data and calendar sync...which sucks big ones because that's a lot of money to pay for address book sync and there are wonderful free tools to do ringtones ☹️ ☹️

Sanyo 5600 Returned :(

Just wanted to drop a thread to try and help out future owners of this phone. I have literally owned every sprint phone that has been offered in the past five years. I love me some Sanyos; however, I must say I was very disappointed with the cheap appearance and sqeaky hinge. As for performance, this phone rocked, I loved everything on the interior. As for me my cell phone has to not only perform well, but look good and the 5600 was just blah! For the money spent I just wan't satistied and now I am waiting on my new LG 535. 😁 Peace out!
OMG.
Why do you post this jibberish.
Who cares what the hell it looks like!?
It's a phone for christ sake....not a Mercedes.

If you're worried about your phone as a status symbol...then you better go back to school and get a real job.
...
Gotta tell you, I was also a victim of the squeaky hinge, but swapped mine out at my local Sprint store and this one is fine. If you returned it becuase it was ugly and decided an LG was gonna be better off, that's your own mistake...

USB cable

I seem to be having problems with this. When I try to do the 'Mass Storage' it never seems to finish. I started (again) last night. Left it connected while I slept it was STILL transfering this morning. What am I doing wrong? Thanks
You should go to Fry's electronics and get a piece of Handset Manager for your Sanyo!
The package comes with both cable and software. The software features are just great and useful! It is really amazing! Plus the price is very reasonable!!!

I found a good dial with Susteen DataPilot. I downloaded the program for $34.95 and used the USB cable that came with my phone. It worked just fine. Just make sure you get the driver installed.

How do you transfer pics from the MiniSD to "saved to phone?"

I just purchased the sanyo mm-5600 and was quite excited to start transferring .jpg images from my computer into the phone for various reasons such as setting backgrounds, pictures for my contacts, etc. To my dismay none of the pictures transferred via USB to the camera's miniSD were viewable. The camera's user guide which is extremely vague on this topic claims the camera supporst .jpg, .bmp, .png, etc. They lie. After a long time of fooling around I finally got a .jpg of size 240 x 320 pixels saved at 14.4bps to show up on the camera on the miniSD card. Thought I was almost there, however, the image can not transfer to any aspect of the phone. For instance, when selecting a contact and trying to apply a picture you get the option of ...

just use the focus uploader at http://www.sprintusers.com/focus it is easier than the way you are doing it and anything you set from the mini SD is saved to the phone so you are not saving memory by setting things saved on the mini SD card

MiniSD card

Hey Guys i work for Sprint, and i got a Kick ASS deal on this phone i got it for 129.99 with no contract. anyways i want to buy this 1GB MiniSD card for it and i was wondering if anyone knows if it will support it or not. another question i have does anyone know if i can send pictures directly to the phone without it passing by the SD card? thanks
There is only 1 company that i know of making 1GB miniSD cards and that is sandisk and it works great.
Also a Sprint employee here.

Have you tried selecting the PictBridge option when you connect the USB cable?
