YET ANOTHER DEMOCRAT in GREED Its KATRINA all over again

NEW ORLEANS residents got a week and a half worth of warnings to get out of town and those who stayed paid the price but blamed Bush. Now we have had 2 YEARS worth of warnings and some have not bothered to act.
So we have another democrat echo what Hussein obama stated that he wanted to delay. ITS ABOUT MONEY not about helping any poor souls who didnt act until last month.
LOOK FOR A NEW TAX OUT OF THIS MARK MY WORDS!
well you are right about money but its not about anyone making money its about ppl saving money if your are laid off or have a fixed income regardless of if you acted before now or not your still looking at 60.00+ for one of thez boxes it really falls...

First off you sound like a jackass. You obviously dont know what the hell you are talking about. First off no one blamed Bush for Katrina. People blamed the Government for not acting swiftly on a natural disaater. It shouldn't take the government an e...

End Coupon

Why should we even have this coupon program. You and I, people who pay taxes have to pay for this program. 60 Dollars is not going to kill anyone to buy a convertor box. Why should I pay for stupid people to get tv?
agreed!

Don't want further delay? Then why don't YOU do something to help?!

It really is quite disappointing how naively unsympathetic a group of relatively affluent, tech savvy, largely urbanite Internet forum users can be toward the uninformed, indigent, elderly, immobile, impaired, et al. While free OTA TV may not exactly be a right, it is very nearly that, as (many for profit) TV broadcasters have paid nothing for their use of public spectrum, while the FCC has reaped $19.6 billion for the US Treasury from auction of spectrum freed up by the DTV transition.

So, if you want no further delay in the DTV transition date, then take a step back from your keyboard, get off your ass, and do something to help expedite the transition.

Go door to door and ensure that every household in your neighborhood already has ...

THIS COUNRTY IS TOO REACTIVE!

We don't prepare ourselves for anything. While I do agree that the Govt screwed up the coupon program royally, the solution to this is an easy one.

Continue with the 2/17 transition and do one of three things.

1. Remove the 90 day expiration on the cards or set it out for 12 months.

2. Allow consumers to purchase the converter box between now and the end of the year and set up a rebate program or website to claim a refund.

3. Between 2/17 and 12/31 make any converter box purchase tax deductible.

We have a much bigger financial crisis to worry about and don't need this DTV transition hindering an already slow moving Goverment.
Most people dont even need the converter box but they have two anyways. This senator is making a big deal out of nothing maybe just a few consumers.
Excellent common sense solution BUT the thing is that the government cannot come up with common sense solutions. At least not the first three times around anyways 🤣

No Delay

When February 17 arrives, my television will no longer pick up analog and I have no converter box. Nor do I want one. That's not going to change in three months. I see no reason to delay.
And there will be plenty of people that, no matter how long you delay, will not go and get the converter box until their TVs stop working. I say this is a band-aid we need to just rip off. It'll be uncomfortable for a bit, and a few months from now we...

DTV Delay

I'm sick of hearing about the upcoming transition. If people are too lazy to take initiative to take the correct steps to be ready it's their own fault. Let them be without TV for it bit, It'll be good for them and get their butts in gear to handle. June 12 will approach and we'll just be doing this same dance.

KEEP FEB. 17TH!
