Sprint Bold 9650 - Voicemail Indication

I am looking to find out if BB OS 6 has has and audible or vibrating alert when a voicemail message is received. For some reason, BB OS 5 did not. Thank you.

New OS6

I downloaded the new OS6 last night and am in the process of getting used to it. One of its most highly touted benefits is that the new Webkit browser is supposed to be much faster and better than the OS5 browser. So far, I find that the new browser is no faster and might even be slower. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
I totally agree with you and I thought it was just me. I even talked to a tech at the Sprint store and he told me that the OS should make your phone faster, not slower. Maybe it's just my phone. It also seemed like it drained my batter even faster....

Bum apps

For anyone who has trouble with an app such as I have( mine was the whoisit free app gave me a troubling menu icon in the app switcher that did nothing and wouldn't go away) and even after deleting still has trouble here's what I've done. Wiping the phone, reinstalling the software did not help. It came down to changing permissions to all deny rebooting phone then deleting the app. That's what finally fixed mine. I even got a different phone with same issue cuz I didn't realize it was an app causing the trouble.

Hope this helps someone.

Blackberry Bold With 6.0

Hi i Am Thinking About Buying The Bold 9650 i Would Like To Know if Anyone Here Has The Bold 9650 With The OS 6.O And if So What is Their Opinion On it!
I've recently updated my Verizon BB bold 9650 to os6 and I must say it's faster easier and updated most of the phones major functions. The camera is much easier to use play with flash options and putting pictures into designated folders you create so ...

BB Bold calls are muffled sounding to the people I call

Blackberry used to be the standard in clear voice quality. I mean in the past a Blackberry was as close as you could get to landline sound. I have been very frustrated because calls coing in are very clear, but I sound muffled to others. I called my work voice mail and left a message and the call did sound muffled. I have done a complete wipe and still it sounds muffled. I even sent my first Bold back and got a new one..SAME ISSUE!

Does anyone have a fix for this? Thanks.
Yes and this is not a joke.

Hold the phone up to your ear and let your hand extend down below the bottom almost as if you were pointing your mouth at the palm area of your hand. The sound deflects off your hand and into the small mic hole and it c...

I had the same issue. They gave me a new phone. The new one works, but the Bluetooth doesn't. I, too, begin to wonder what is wrong with RIM. My first Bold was a replacement for a defective Tour. The only Blackberry that I owned that was absolutely tr...

Half duplex ... really?

It's 2010.
We have cameras built into phones that rival top market devices, wifi, super fast data... essentially a portable computer that fits into your pocket...
Yet they choose to outfit this high end device with a HALF DUPLEX speaker phone? Seriously?

I haven't followed Berry devices for a long time but is this typical for them?

I use my speaker phone on all of my phones almost exclusively and a full duplex speaker is essential.

My Tour (9630) is NOT "HALF DUPLEX"; I would hope this is just an oversight or miss-communications of this device.. It has only been on this site for 48 hrs...

Unfortunately, if you read the specs on this phone it is half-duplex. ☹️

RIM Backberry's

Does anyone know when the latest and greatest BB will be coming out for Verizon Wireless? I am not sure if I should go with the 9650 or wait.

Email reconciliation

While in the main message folder, under "options" is an item called "email reconciliation". Clicking on that, one has the option to either leave on "wireless reconcile" or to shut it off. What is that all about and should it be left on?

Thanks.

Blackbery Desktop for Mac BB 5.0 OS Conflict

Five phones, hours of conversation with Sprint and RIM tech support later, there is a conflict between BB Desktop for Mac and the BB 5.0 OS that removes voicemail text alerts. I have no idea why this occurs. If there is anyone that may offer a solution I would be greatly appreciative. Thank you.

Slingbox on the bold for verizon

Has anyone tried to use slingbox on the bold (for verizon). Since it has wifi i wouldnt imagine that verizon would block the service if only using it in a wifi zone.

Thanks

BB Browser Issue

I just received the 9650 Bold and I am getting this message on MANY web pages.

"http error: 413 request entity too large"

Have you experienced this? If so, any work-arounds found?

I also use Bolt and don't have issues with that one, except I can't seem to make it my default browser.

Browser question

When I enlarge the letters on a web page enough for me to be able to comfortably read the page, I am forced to scroll left to right in order to read the page because not all the letters fit onto the screen. The browser on other companies' phones reconfigure the page so that no matter how large I make the letters, the entire page remains on the screen and it is not necessary to scroll left to right in order to read the page. Is there any way this can be done on the Blackberry browser?
Same effect as holding a newspaper. The closer you hold it to your face, the further left and right you will have to look to see the page in its entirety. Not exactly sure how you can blow up letters to be say 30 pt font, but yet the rest of the pag...

Blackberry 9650 or Droid Incredible?

I am thinking of upgrading to the Blackberry 9650. Went to the Verizon store to see if it was available at store and no luck. I played around with the Droid Incredible and was very impressed. It is just like the iPhone, except super fast. Very easy to use interface and everything is lightning fast. Even web surfing was much faster than my Curve.

Two things concern me about the Incredible. Everyone keeps saying battery life is horrible to the point where you may need to charge multiple times a day. If that is in fact the case it is no-go.

The second concern is, although it works great, the build quality did not appear to be as solid as the Blackberry or the iPhone.

What are your thoughts?
Had the Incredible one week and went back to my Blackberry Curve. I use the BB primarily for business e-mail and phone calls.
The Droid had to be charged at least once during the day.....sometimes twice.BB lasts almost 2 full days. I also found it v...

Will the Blackberry OS 6.0 be available for 9650?

I am thinking of getting the Blackberry 9650 from Verizon. Does anyone know if:

1) You'll be able to upgrade to Blackberry OS 6.0 when it comes out?

2) Will there be a fee to migrate to OS 6.0 evn for those that get phones just a few months before OS 6.0 release?

3) When will OS 6.0 be available?

"RIM's operating system is old"

Really?

If it ain't broke, then why "fix" it?
Apple is doing a lot to drive the market and consumer expectations. Google, Motorola, HTC and the carriers are right behind Apple, doing the same. A lot of people now want phones with slick touch interfaces that run cool new apps. That's reality.
