Recomendations For Evo

I finally got the EVO and have few questions on it.
a) Any recommendation on hard case which will protect the phone.
b)What extra battery to get as the original battery is not as good.
c)What apps to root to kill and extend the battery life longer.

video conference options (with a iPhone4?)

Hello friends...

My last cell phone was a Motorola brick, so i am starting out from scratch. My only two "must have apps" is FM radio, and the ability to video conference (with or with out Wi-Fi, but I would rather do it with 4G).

My friend has a Apple iPhone4. I hear that a app called Tango can cross platforms. Are other apps around that will let me video conference with my iPhone4 friend?

My search has narrowed to the HTC EVO 4G and the HTC My Touch 4G. I do not know which to choose. All other things being equal I guess I want a bigger screen, however, I do not want to or rarely will watch TV and movies on my smartphone. I will use the screen for video conference.

I would like to create a hot spot for my self if need be (...

Advanced Task Killer and Swype texting on the EVO?

I am a new EVO owner and I was just wondering am I wasting my time installing Advanced Task Killer on my EVO? The reason I ask is b/c when I was with Verizon wireless I had the Motorola DROID X and the Samsung Fascinate and the Verizon rep I dealt with informed me that if I didn't have Advanced Task Killer my smartphone would be really slow. When I purchased my EVO last night the Sprint sales rep I dealt with told me not to install Advanced Task Killer on my EVO or it will dramatically slow it down, whats the deal here? Also how do I install swype texting on my EVO I found a video on youtube that walks you through the process but when I get to where it is time to install the swype file it says that it cannot install it. If any of you fellow ...

Task killers are harmful on android phones in general, completely unecessary on anything after android 2.1 and completely useless on 2.2. You're best off leaving it off altogether.

HTC EVO vs MyTouch 4G

Can anyone give me some sound advice as to which phone is better. I currently have T-Mobile and its time for an upgrade. Half of me wants to go ahead and get the MyTouch 4G, but at the same time the EVO is really tempting. The specs look almost identical for both phones. Can anyone fill me in on which phone is the 'Best Buy' overall?

"Nearly EVERYTHING" plan.~ Forget the HTC EVO 10 buck more plan.

I am a Sprint Premiere Customer, and I have the top of the top plan, and it's clearly stated as "EVERYTHING"... that I would never need to pay for anything extra.

I currently am paying over $129 for a "Everything Data" plan that includes unlimited data

You state that the $10.00 Premium Data add-on is for the HTC EVO only.. but isn't the name of my plan the "Everything Data"? Everything implies "ALL INCLUDED", thus any additional add-on should be on Sprint.
That is a good point/question!

I plan to head out to see this phone in action and possibly make a switch from ATT's iPhone to this. Thx!

Keep us posted Amigo!

Sometimes titles and loyalty mean nothing and that goes for any business. Look at the airlines... they do whatever they want too.

would you stick super gas into a car that takes premium? Surprised
It seems my friend that you didn't read your contract and your plan well. When you sing up for the everything data plan there was only 3g at the time and you got everything unlimited that the company had at the time, now there is 4g which is different...

I have the Simply Everything Plan. When I got the EVO 3 weeks ago, the contract they had me sign showed my plan at $89.99, not the usual $99.99, plus the $10.00 for the EVO. I didnt ask for anything it just happened, so my cost stays the same as it ha...

Name some top FREE apps

I'm always on the lookout for high-quality, free apps. Share and share alike.

Vlingo--voice control that works far better than what's built into the phone

TuneIn Radio--listen to radio stations from almost every major city across the globe (excluding those owned by Clear channel)--awesome

.Podkast.-excellent podcast portal

Watchdog Lite--what Advanced Task Killer should be but isn't

What's your expectations for battery life? Perspective plays a huge part however those that complain about four hours of battery life usually need to adjust the settings on the phone itself.

Inexpensive large battery

Purchased a "3500 mAh" battery on Ebay from an Asian vendor. Cost about 11 bucks with shipping and it also had a replacement back. The battery is roughly twice the thickness of the stock battery. While I have no way of testing it for capacity I have not had an issue with the phone running of of battery during the day. I can check some mail and talk for an hour or so, do some browsing etc. Used to be that I would be close to empty at the end of a day.

I like the size of the phone better with the battery and back. Phone was too thin before now it is rounder in the back. A more natural shape and you don't have to worry about scratching the camera if you set the phone down.

Didn't use the phone much today but its been on f...

HTC EVO vibrate mode

Quick question, is there any way to increase the vibration when in the vibrate mode?
I use this phone mostly for business purposes, and 99% of the time i have in vibrate mode, but it is just not strong enough. This might be a show stopper for me...

Thanks!

Battery Life and good apps?

Ok, I have a few questions, anyways first one is...

I just recieved my white evo from asurion bc I lost it on the 9th of august, it was brand new in the box and it had 2.2 pre-installed. My question is....did the 2.2 affect the battery life, ive read alot and ppl stating it does affect battery life? I was also thinking about getting an extended battery(like 2400-3500)but does your phone get hot if your on it for awhile or while its charging? Bc my battery life gets me about 5-6 hours!

Should I use an app killer? I had advanced task killer but there was no difference in battery life!!

What is the best app killer?

What are the best apps for the evo?

What is a good LIVE wallpaper app and regular background app that is free? I al...

I would like to receive notification when a new text arrives but not when every email arrives.

Anyone know how this is done?

There is an app called Profile where you can do what you want, and many other things.
In the email account hit menu go to settings under more and its in notifications. Just uncheck the box.

EVO vx Droid X

what do you think?

i currently have a mytouch 3g with t-mobile i would love to get the HD2 so i wont have to switch carriers but the HD2 is NOT android, thats a deal breaker, im considering switching carriers for a superior phone...which one!?
The phones are very similar, but if you will be getting 4G in your area soon, then the answer is a no-brainer. If not, then I would compare plans. Sprint has better plans, and their customer service has improved 100 fold in the last year. Also, since ...
