Seriously?

It seems to me that the amount of power these chargers use even when charging a phone is so small. Surely there has to be better use of the time to make bigger impacts than saving such a tiny amount of power.
thats kind of the same thing i was thinking, especially when its not charging a phone. obvisiously it still uses some electricity, but its gotta be an incredibly small amount.

While they're at it...

...let's hurry up and standardize on Micro USB.

Imagine: you buy one energy-efficient charger, and it will fit every phone you own after that.

You are 100% correct and in addition charge extra for new chargers instead of packaging them with phones

No they need a Smart charger

One that would come on when the phone is plugged in and shut off when there is no phone connected.

IDIOTS

How how about a freakin' .02 cent toggle switch on the charger. We are a nation of idiots.

But they come in the box......

How do you choose when you want a more efficient charger for you phone and they all use different ends. Does not make sense unless they are all going to use the same end.

what I want to know

is Why aren't those cell phone powerhouses Huawei, Sendo and ZTE onboard with this initiative?

don't they care about our environment???
Good question. I'm thinking maybe the ones listed make their own chargers and the ones you listed do not. Just a guess.
