Verizon = Big Brother?
Why is Verizon watching who we text? It's our business, we are paying for our text message plans so why are we going to get charged more. Money hungry A$$ holes!

Here's a twist...
While the subscribers may not pay, how long will it be before the partners say screw this carrier and then its off to see the wizard? The idea is valid but I wonder about the repercussions. Maybe I'm missing something but this could be a tricky move. Interesing to say the least.
If they just say "screw Verizon", then they lose ad revenue because they've lost millions of potential targets. The companies that pay them for advertising won't want to pay them as much because they're now reaching fewer people.

Yes, but obviously these companies are in business to make money. These costs almost always trickle down to the consumers in the end. The partners will either cut back their services or perhaps offer them as a subscription.

yes and no. It doesn't sound fare but "technically" sending a text message causes usage damage to Verizon's infastructure and after billions of these spam-like text messages it would become a burden on Verizon

My guess is that Verizon would be smart enough to have them sign an agreement BEFORE delivering said messages after a certain date.

A company is going to increase costs of products over time until there is an equilibrium of supply vs demand. Selling 100 burgers at $1 each isn't as good as selling 50 burgers at $4 each. Yah, now you're serving 50 less burgers but you're making more money.

for all of those free services they offer to vzn customers. Now vzn customers are going to have to start paying for those services each month so the company supplying the feature doesnt get ripped...
