Free?

The idea of the FCC mandating that cellular companies, like T-mobile, is obligated to allow that spectrum that they will PURCHASE to be free-open-access doesn't make sense.

What will be the incentive to spend billions of dollars on the rights to broadcast on a slice of spectrum spectrum which is very very expensive and offer it for free? I'm sorry there's no such thing as free... i can see why Tmobile wants to delay this. the only way this could make sense is that the cellco's that have to allow open access will allow other companies to use it as a medium to advertise and the cellco's make revenue from the ad's.
That's the idea, that ad revenue would make up for the access, or that the free connection would be a slower one and in order to access the faster speeds, you would have to pay. Or, the cost of the hardware, like a USB modem, would be prohibitively e...

Total trash excuse from T-Mobile

"T-Mobile says further testing needs to be done to ensure that there is no interference between the proposed spectrum to be auctioned and existing networks."

While this may be true. Its not that big of a deal. The real reason is T-Mobile has run low on money on building their nationwide 3G network and the company JUST wants more time to rise money for this AWS-3 Auction. So T-Mobile comes up with the dumpiest excuse.

FCC go head and vote on the AWS 3 rules!!

Other companies like
MetroPCS
Verizon
Sprint
Cricket
ATT
are waiting.
For someone named tmobile22 you sure are a hater of tmobile.

We all know how well this worked for Earhlink

And their attempt at municipal wifi. It'll be the albatross around Tmobile's neck.

Word....

T-Mo should be able to call the shots on that. The Government has been sitting on their network for a minute. 😕
