America "Made In China"

☹️ It's sad, Schaumburg IL. based Motorola which is from my neck of the woods would go to some Indian company. Motorola is struggling because they're not trying hard enough. We're talking about a company who made such ingenious devices like pagers which of Motorola I had purchased many as a teenager and adult. Cellular phones like the beautiful Star-Tac. CB radios etc etc. Motorola has the capability to destroy LG and the rest of the other companies because they have true ingenuity. BRING JOBS BACK TO THE UNITED STATES! Stop paying $3 an hour to workers in Mexico to make your products. It's embarrassing. Come on (|\/|) you can NOT sell out!! Failure is not an option!!
Motorola is still in business. They just don't want to be part of the personal cellular devices market anymore because they don't think its worth being part of their portfolio of products and services.

Bring jobs back to the US? Well, how about A...

missing a critical part of the arguement. It's not that american workers are lazy. It's that American workers are simply more expensive to employ than Malaysiann, Indian, Mexican or wherever. It all starts with Unionized employees and their desire ...

They're not just racing us to the bottom anymore

India and China used to be racing us to the bottom--seeing which items could be manufactured cheaper over there vs the states, and seeing which backroom stuff, from filing papers to customer support, could be done cheaper there.

No more. China and India are racing us to the top. They don't just want to manufacture and support anymore, they know that the real money is in innovation and design, and they want a piece of that pie too.

"LOL MY COUSIN'S FRIEND" durkadurkha

Your comment is disgusting. You have the nerve to call us "stupid americans". It would be real funny to find out that you're in America too. That would make you even stupider. You're in America aren't you?

Personally...

...I hope that Motorola declines this offer. Despite their obvious current lack of innovation and struggle to turn a profit, Moto has always been able to pull through somehow. I would hate to see an iconic American company go the way of selling out to another which I have never even heard of.

I really am pulling for Motorola to make a turn-around now that their Handset Unit is independent of their Wireless and IP Solutions Unit. All they need to do is inject a little bit more money into their R&D department and develop another competitive handset line (or two or three...) that would take the industry into a new direction, like the RAZR undeniably did four years ago.

Moto: the RAZR design is as good as it gets...spend your money elsewhe...
