So who actually has one?

Just wanted to see how many people actually have one of these now. I ordered mine from Amazon and they told me I have to wait until the first week of July. This phone has stirred up a lot of people. I can't wait to finally get to use it.
Its sad, got it on Thursday sent it back on Wednesday. too buggy too, much hold time on the phone with nokia. tried everything nokia wanted to do. codes to reboot, reinstall the firmware and few other things.... not good. during the time i had it the ...

I have a N95, but is oldy, I would like to change my smartphone by one better o sime
what is your recommendations?

thanks
Well, it's a different phone. Just looking at the N97, it looks like a darn good choice for an upgrade. But it's not the case. I've got both, and have had the N97 for 6 months.

Here's where the N97 is better than the N95:

- Call quality.
- Bat...

N97 or iPHONE 3GS?

which one is better?
Better? First off, you're talking about two different types of phones here. If you had asked about the i8910 Omnia HD and 3GS, then I could tell you the i8910 would be the better choice by far. However, it doesn't have US 3G yet. So, better in this ca...

N97 Worth it? or Not?

I have a Nokia E90 right now. It is def the best phone I have ever had in my life. Its perfect for everything I need it for. For some reason though, I'm stuck on the N97. The only thing holding me back is that I hear it's having problems with the OS and it tends to freeze on the facebook app and stuff. any advice?? Should I stick with the E90? Or should I try out the N97? For that much money, I don't want a faulty phone. HELP!!

Build quality issues. Anybody else have this?

Just got mine in yesterday and have been playing around with it non stop, but it looks like it's going back for another one.

Hey, I just got my N97 in from Amazon. It's the NAM version, RM-507. I was very disappointed to see it has the made in China label, since my opinion of Chinese made products has never been a good one. Upon inspecting the phone, I happen to notice a few things.

1) The SIM card makes noise for some reason when I shake the phone, sounds like something is knocking around. The second I take the card out of the tray, and shake the phone, there is no noise at all. It's not loud, but you can definitely hear it.

2) The phone doesn't quite sit completely flat when the slide is closed. The side with the speakers on it ...

I honestly don't have most of those problems (mine is also made in China).

I've heard a lot of people complaining about the keyboard but mine doesn't seem to be that bad. It's definitely not as good as the E71 but the tactile feedback I get is ser...

Waited for new firmware and price drop

It pays to be patient..

Just got mine from Dell for $559 (after 20% off coupon) and loaded the new. No problems and I don't miss the iPhones I signed contracts for a week or so ago and sold for stupid money.
Would you mind sharing the coupon code used?

Nothing about this seems "Latest and Greatest"

This just seems like a giant stale device from Nokia. They once had the most advanced smartphone platform in existence, and now I'd rank them 4th.. or even 5th. I mean c'mon, how does such a crappy UI even get green lit? They didn't even try.

I don't see too many people plunking down $700.00 for a device that gets burned by a $100.00 iPhone.
I agree. For the price this will be a flop, now if it was priced right, maybe even in the $200 to $300 range, it may have a chance. There are just to many cheaper phones that offer more then this right now.

I had the iPhone 3Gs for awhile now and decided I would rather have features then a slick interface. I don't want a whole new Nokia. I think this is a great upgrade to the N95 and I paid $559 at dell for it and find the phone wi well worth the money. ...

is there any big different if i get the n97 for t-mobile then for at&t besides the 3g internet speeds wouldnt everything else work the same
Other than your service, and how much you're paying each month, there is no difference.
I use it on T-Mobile. 3G is he only thing I lose by not having it on AT&T.

Mostly agree

I've had the N97 for about a week and a half, and I think I'd agree with Eric's overall thoughts on it. After the first weekend, I REALLY liked it. I still do but my enthusiasm has been tempered a little bit.

I'm not quite as frustrated with some of the things that Eric is. For example, I have no problem with the touchscreen being resistive because it might be the best resistive touchscreen I've ever used. I'm also a little bit surprised with his complaints about the body. It's disappointing that the N-Series development team has not found a way to equal the products created by its E-Series counterparts but I can't go as far as to say that I think the N97 feels cheap (other than maybe the battery cover).

Ultimately, I agree that t...

Something is happening?

When checking my order at the Nokia website (3rd time today-yes I know I have a problem)where the phone and the blue tooth headset were listed as back ordered, this last time the headset was listed as "in progress." Does this mean good things are going to happen?
False alarm! Now listed as back ordered again. Not fair! 😢

The best thing that can happen is wait a month or two after release... Then Thank all the bleeding edge early adopters for their reviews and see whether or not spending $500 for the phone will be worth it...

The price is sure to drop after the ne...

Nope, the N97 is a GSM device, it'll only work on either AT&T, or T-Mobile, 3G only on AT&T.

Did Nokia fix the reboot problem

My N95 reboots by itself every couple of days even after sending it to Nokia for software upgrade. Does anyone know if the 97 has this problem?
My N97 didn't do any of that.

featured items

I bet when they were making the short synopsis of this phone that it took awhile to decide what should be a featured items. It seems a little short, but it could have been shorter.

"The N97 a GSm 3G phone from Nokia. Features items are everything."

Thats my summary :-)
Spot on. This phone reminds me more of a tablet PC rather than a...phone.

I feel your pain even though I use AT&T. The problem is AWS is still fairly new and Nokia takes forever to adopt change. In the future, I can see them adopting this.

But you have to remember, the NAM radios AT&T uses isn't only US specific but in...

Mine Is On The Way

Hi everyone, I have been wanting this phone since it was first talked about a long time ago but was going to settle for the blah- blah iphone. But to my surprise when I checked my e-mail on May 8th I read about a discount on the Nokia page saving $244.65. Wow,with a bluetooth headset included. Thank you Nokia. I have checked 3 times LOL with order support and my order did go through. Now with that being said, I have never bought an unlocked phone before and I am hoping that I can get it set up with all the stuff like voicemail, mms, and especially the web. Does anyone think this will be a problem with our friends at AT&T?
Thank you in advance.

Also, order support told me that the ship date is about 2 weeks or maybe sooner
Are you sure you're getting the NAM version? Post the link where you ordered! Yeah, I'd have to agree, it's by-by iPhone time for me too!
