Have we not had enough?

It seems like all the MVNOs started up by everyone and their grandmother's neighbor's ex-husband's half cousin have become defunct as of late.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it appears that if you're not Tracphone, Virgin or Helio you should probably just stay out of the game.
Tracfone, Virgin, Helio, and Boost are the major competitors atm. I agree, there are too many. Now you have Virgin and Boost doing unlimted area calling plans which makes them like a cricket service. If we did what they do in JP you would only have...

It depends on the MVNO model. The market has proved that brand name alone cannot sell a cellular service (IE: I like both ESPN and Disney brands, but would rather have Sprint or AT&T as a phone carrier). The phone is a utility service people.

They have been around forever as a Verizon MVNO. They must be doing something right.
What ever happened to P Diddy's MVNO? Agreed, the MVNO model is constantly changing, and without major VC money or some huge parent backing you, it is a no win proposition...
