How will I know when my area is upgraded to HSUPA?
I mean, when we went from EDGE to 3G I knew because I saw the 3G icon on the phone screen, but now, how will I know?
Your browsing experience should be even faster since the upload latency will decrease.
When the upload speeds are faster, but you will have to get a device that supports both HSUPA and HSDPA.
hmmmm
Those speeds are what you get on EVDO Rev 0 and A. And they are not going to upgrade their entire network? Isn't both sprint and verizon on the way to upgrading their entire network to REV A by the end of 2008? I thought I read sprint will have their entire network upgraded by end of 2007.
Yeah it's because of spectrum demands.
EV-DO is only 1.25 MHz on top of 2.5MHz of 1xRTT
HSPA is an entire 5 MHz set. It's not meant to compliment GSM but replace it but since a lot of people have non 3G phones, they can't get rid of the GSM fro...

Well I know Sprint will be Full EV-D0 Rev A by the end of 2007 and 60-70% WiMAX be the end of 2008. Its kinda funny how HSUPA is only as fast as EV-D0 and yet Sprint is already moving toward an even faster network. I currently use both Sprint and at...

Those speeds are for the uplink right. Also, I thought that thats all the upgrade was going to do was get it up to the speed of Rev A. Where they have coverage is already Rev O speed so this is just a modest upgrade i guess.
They will upgrade some but not sure if they will do all yet. HSUPA is pretty good on the uplink, depending on how much spectrum per carrier they use. HSDPA is the same situation. DO and HSPA differ on the spectrum usage per carrier that favors DO a li...
