Because everyone wants yet another standard

With the exception of Sony-Ericsson, doesn't everyone else use microSD for the most part? It was built primarily for the cell phone industry. Almost every manufacturer supports it. What's the point of creating yet another standard. Why don't they all just agree to use microSD, which again, is pretty much what's going on now?
I think it's because they don't think microSD is good enough.

This is great news.

Funny thing is that I thought about this standard yesterday. See, I just went from a W810i to a W610i and they both use different cards... If this standard was already effective I wouldn't have to buy yet another memory card for my new phone 😡
Not necessary. Any standard pretty soon outlives its usefulness... or its sex-appeal. And then another one is created. And rather than feeling stuck with your previous format equipment, you - divorce it! ;) 😎
