Too Little Too Late

Dobson is already a goner.
And RCC
What do you mean Dobson's already a goner. I don't think them being aquired by AT&T is because of a roaming issue.

Revolution or Bust

This decision has the potential to be huge but it remains to be seen whether or not carriers actually want to pay "reasonable" roaming fees to increase coverage for their customers. I'm sure they have done their research and understand their markets. What I'm saying is that, in my area, Sprint sucks but Cell South's coverage is great - both are CDMA carriers. Does Sprint want to pay "reasonable" roaming rates for customers in this area or have they already talked to Cell South and decided that they don't? The FCC's decision could have no impact on the market at all - or it could be huge.

please define

What is reasonable and to whom would they not be descriminating against?
Reasonable is going to be what the market decides. There are some carriers which do not market but exist on roaming revenues. They charge a premium for the national carriers customers to use their networks. The customer never sees it because the carri...

does anyone else

think that this ruling came about in part because some bigwig at the FCC got slapped with a monster roaming bill on their kids' cell bill?

A watered down version on the EU Roaming Charge Reform

This essentially mimics what the EU did in April with capping roaming charges, except that in true Capitalist fashion, the FCC lets the market decide what is fair and reasonable.
