not really impressed

there's nothing here that's really new. i don't think that it will be a very valuable tool for anything more than what they've already mentioned here... camera phones and cars. i don't think that it will ever fully penetrate into any professional markets, because we already have cameras that will operate at much lower levels of light.
...what phone now takes a high quality picture with just 1 lux at? and if you have ever had a nokia you'd realize how great it is that finally a way for your phone to take decent night pictures!! (i have the 6126)

CHEAP LABOR!!!

The institute already spent roughly 11 billion won ($10.5 million USD) on the development of the SMPD chip over the past four years. The expected earnings from the chip exportation is about 2 trillion won ($2.2 billion USD) annually

Here in the States we pay researches six figure salary's a year each, to come up with great technological advancements like xbox360, iphone, viagra etc. and a bunch of Koreans do it for a total of 10.5 million dollars... thats smaller than the Missouri state lottery!! people spend more than that building their houses!!

does anyone else see this coming to pantech? (a Korean company whose known for their innovative awe inspiring phones) i mean their high end ones not the basics here in the states
If any company, I'd say Samsung (who controls over 50% of the Korean market).
