THANK GOD!
I barely like being on airplanes. The reason is because of crying babies, noisy kids & people constantly getting up to crap. I think I would go completely MAD if I had to deal with jerks on their cellphones. Its already annoying enough that when we land, everyone & their grandma is getting out their phones to let people know they have landed. Its loud! "Hello? Hello? I cant hear you over all this noise! WHAT?" Can you imagine the havoc of people being on their phones IN-FLIGHT? People dont have proper cellular ettiquit. It would be a nightmare! Constantly screaming into the phone, trying to heard over the engines. Having to hear people talk about the nastiest things... I once was walking down the street & heard a man arguing with his wife ab...

i just thought of how irritating that will be but im sure airlines will designate certain planes as "quiet planes", where people are not allowed to use cellphones, sorta like the same thing amtrak does with their trains.
👀 Its Called First Class Man 🙄
no way shape or form
there is no way shape or form that our cell phones interfere with the flight controls. think about it..... if there was any concern then the airlines would have every right to confiscate our phones at boarding; and they would if they could.....guaranteed
the technology to talk on cellphones in the air is there, its possible, im glad to see people are looking at the "interference" excuse as pure BS., companies are too lazy to make this happen, "lack of consumer support" yeah RIGHT!!!
Interference to airplane control systems: wrong
"Also, a CTIA test that took place last year demonstrated that in-flight cell calls continue to interfere with airplane control systems."
There is *nothing* in the referenced USA Today story that suggests this. CTIA is only considering the impact to cellular networks on the ground.
FAA has commissioned a separate committee to look at compatibility with aircraft systems. There is no mention of that work in the USA Today article.
Correction: there is a reference to FAA's effort in the USA Today article, but no mention of any findings.
Once again, CTIA's work has nothing to do with interference to aircraft.
I've heard this theory, but it sounds pretty convincing. The ban on in flight cell phone usage has nothing to do with interference. Airplanes are shielded for interference far too well for some measly cell phone to cause any damage. Think about its...
