Moto Q+T-Mob Dash=Amoi Smartphone

is it just me or does this look like a Moto Q and a T-Mob Dash had a love child....it has a Q keyboard and all with the rest looking very much like a dash....
psh.. China 🙄
Actually I thought the same thing when I saw the keyboard. But overall, this device doesn't really seem all that impressive, that's an understatement.

Amoi?

never heard of em
They are huge in China, seriously saying AMOI there is like saying MOT here.

Personally my opinion is their products are cheap and "knock-off" looking, and they have been trying to bust into the US market for years now, sounds like finally someone ...

Well get ready, 'cause as the Chinese economy expands into the tech sector, you'll be seeing more and more Chinese brands on the US market.

Naming

So I wonder if the name is supposed to imply its the successor to the AT&T SMT 5600 ( https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p =585 ) ? LOL
That's what the name suggests, but it's weird because the Audiovox SMT 5600 doesn't have a QWERTY. 😳

some of you just don't get it...

not every user in America needs 2+ MP camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or 3G access... while the majority us technophiles on this site do care about those things, you have to put each phone into its designated demographic and see how they will work.

For example, this phone is designed for the customer who doesn't want to spend an arm and a leg on a phone, but still wants more features than what a RAZR (for example) could give them. So they might have to trade off a couple features to get the ones they really need, but if the phone works for them, then its a good phone... despite the fact that its last years technology in a new wrapper

my one concern with this phone is that it is made in china. many people are concerned with Chinese exports ...

I wonder if it will say Made In China on the bottom? 😉

Along with the 39.99 PDA Connect plan!!!!

The Chinese market will probably be huge in the coming years for imports of all kinds. This will be the first for a product from China but the jury is still out in regards to the price and performance of this phone. Right now we have the Cingular 3125...

Looks like a step backwards to me

Seems like we can't get the good stuff. They dump their junk on us, make us wait almost a year to get what other segments of the world already had. I guess the US just doesn't have the buying power anymore. It is sad to read all the INTERNET rags and see what the rest of the world is getting and what we have to put up with.
Actually it more than a year!, I have the Sharp V903, and am using it on Cingular's network, because I refuse to wait for a 3.2mp camera phone to be available on Cingular's network, so I got it unlocked on ebay.

I'm really, really hoping something ...

hmmm

All the time, people complain about all the other countries having much better phones than we do, and while I would have to agree I think this is a step in the right direction. Think about it, if this is the first of the many coming over here, that would be awesome. I mean yeah, there are going to be some problems with the first phone and it might not impress you very much, but just give it time, things will get better. Hopefully, someday anyways.
