T-mobile DASH windows mobile 6
I have recently read on the WINDOWS MOBILE website that the t-mobile dash will start to come with the windows mobile 6. When reading that the next sentence follows that if you are currently a dash owner you WILL be able to update to windows mobile 6 in the upcoming months. It does not give a date of when they should happen, but I was curious as to if any of you knew? also when the update arrives, does anyone know how it works? will it notify you on your phone or what?
Thanks, I hope someone can help!
Maybe they should focus on a stable mobile operating system first
Windows Mobile is super buggy and unless they rectify that in this new version, I won't even consider it.
I'm so frustrated with the treo 700w I'm ready to throw it out of a moving vehicles.. luckily I am able to get verizon to replace it if I exchange it 3 times in a 60 day period
I'm curious, if a person wants a SmartPhone, other than the iPhone, what's your alternative if your not confident in Windows Mobile.
Because I don't yet have a SmartPhone, but I would really like to have the internet everywhere I go, email, ebay, S...

I disagree that Windows mobile is "super buggy". I switched from Treo devices because of many issues with poor reliability and have been impressed with Windows Mobile 5 overall. That's not to say there is no room to improve, clearly it needs to improv...

Is WM6 really an upgrade?
Right now the details on Windows Mobile 6 won't be fully revealed until a few days from now so my opinion here is only as good as the information I've uncovered. so far.
I can't help but feel that this will only be an incremental upgrade and should have been dubbed, Windows Mobile 5SE. It sure does not sound like a full upgrade version and WM5 has only been out for a somewhat short time now.
More of a marketing ploy by renaming the 3 versions than a real upgrade. After reviewing an article on CNET http://crave.cnet.com/8301-1_105-9685249-1.ht ml?tag=cnetfd.mt
The descriptions and screen shots don't show much
that we don't have now in version 5 except for this new Windows Live and the ability to direct dial a number from the Today screen ...

You are 100% correct. This is not a full version upgrade, it is mostly an "under the hood" update to WM5 with some eye candy. Why they chose to call it WM6, I am not sure, probably for marketing reasons. The next Windows Mobile will be call photon, it...

Upgrade Path for Moto Q
Curious if an upgrade from WM5 is possible on current generation of the Moto Q and others.
I doubt this is something that can be upgraded to with a windows mobile handset. Most likely, it will be used with handsets still in development instead of 5.0.
On the Motorola Q i have no idea , but other WM devices it is just a software upgrade when released.
It's extremely rare that versions get updated on any phone. Ususally they just come out with a new model so you have to fork over another 300-500 bucks for a new one. That said, I am hoping the 8525 gets an upgrade option since it just came out.
With 5.0 there was a window during which one could upgrade at no charge on certain devices. I know this was the case with the i730 on VZW, I assume other carriers/phones did something similar.
dont think you will be able to upgrade the current device to 6.0 the specs on motorola's web site are talking 1.0 ghz processors I think the q is 312MHZ I think the first 6.0 device we are gonna is is the Samsung Robin I760 look around there are pict...
