Lg Chocolate 3 question

I want to get this phone, but I wonder from reading some reviews, that you have to unlock
this phone, each time you have to make a call,
is it true? Please let me know.
Thanks!
Not true. You only have to unlock to do anything from front screen like play music. Once open, it's ready to go

Not impressed with camera

I had the Chocolate 2 and now the Chocolate 3 and I liked the camera better on the 2. Yes the camera is a bit faster on the 3 but no matter how still I hold the camera the picture still comes out a bit fuzzy/blurry. ☹️ Now what I was thinking, the camera on the old Chocolate is at the top further away from the take button, on the Chocolate 3 when you flip it open the camera is closer to the take button and I bet that makes it a bit more sensitive when taking a picture.

Is anyone else having an issue? I see where a lot of people like the camera, well for those who do please tell what your doing to get a good snap.
The camera has no flash. Take pictures in day time. Not a good camera for night pictures. Not sure if older models had flash.

my chocolate shuts off when I close the flip...

...has anyone else had this problem? The first time I just figured the battery had just died, then it shut off several times while charging it. Right after the battery fully charged, it would still do that. I just pulled the battery and for some reason, it's not repeating the shut-off. Weird. This one will be going back if this happens any more, I've only had it a month.
YESSSSSSS. Had this lg chocolate 8560 for almost a year. This phone keeps on shutting off. At first just a few times here and there. I had an lg extended battery on it and it got to the point if I shut the flip hard or just tap the back of the pho...

Pictures

Is there a way that I can drag and drop photos to my LG C3? I have plenty of space with the 8G MicroSD.

Thanks

My Music won't work..

I've added a bunch of songs to my phone's internal memory, and ever since, I'm not able to access the music portion of the phone..

Whenever I tried to load my song list, it would show the "Loading Music" pop-up for an infinite amount of time, and I can't even escape it. I can go back to the main menu, I can close my phone, and the pop-up will still show. The only way I can get rid of it is by literally taking off the battery and putting it back in. I can't even turn my phone off manually because of it.

Has anyone experienced this problem? I love this phone, but a bug like this is starting to make me hate it.
Hey zxcz44,

I have the exact same problem but I have external memory. Did you happen to find a solution? ☹️

Thanks a lot.

Just wondering if there are any opinions out there. I'm hesitant to buy a Motorola phone b/d I've had buggy ones before. However, I had an LG 8700 and that phone has had a lot of problems...

I'm going to uprgade. Any advice out there to help me choose b/w the two phones?

a hard plastic snap-on case for the choc3? ive been waiting since it came out and still havent found anything online yet....

maybe i am just looking in the wrong place....?

any help would be appreciated.

thanks 🙂
I been looking for a real case as well. All that is worth getting now is that silicon stuff that doesn't even have plastic around the screen. I hope its just cause the phone is new. I ordered a silicon thingy for now but waiting for something better.

Multiple firmware issues

Since August 7th, I have owned two new chocolate 3s one black one blue both with version 4 firmware and they both have had the same four identical issues.

1) During a call the phone will restart, soft reboot, power cycle; by this I mean the phone will actually power down to the black screen with the Verizon trademark logo and then power back up, of course dropping the call. This can happen within 30 seconds of the call being connected or it may happen 20 minutes into the call. It has happened while on the go or stationary, in town or out of town, it may not happen for two days then can happen for three calls back to back. So far I have been unable to find the cause or trigger for this and is happening now usually 3 to 4 times a day. BTW I...

I haven't experienced these problems yet knock on wood. My chocolate 3 works fine. I am guessing I use latest firmware cause I checked to see if there was a new one out the other day and couldn't find one. I have had my phone since the end of July and...

My wife and I have experienced the random reboots many times on two different Choc 3s. In addition, as noted in a separate thread, the Choc3 also has a tendency to just lock up to the point where you have to remove the battery to get it to reboot and ...

I've only seen one Ch 3 do this. Actually your post helped me out. I have a customer who came in last night and said his phone power cycled during a call. I thought he was being paranoid (he's in A LOT) but now I'll let him know that it may be an i...

Internal v. External Memory

Does anyone know how to access the phone's internal/external memory simultaneously? At least for now, when the SD card is in the phone, I can only access the external memory (SD card). If I take out the SD card, then I'm able to access the phone's internal memory. This is true whether I'm using Rhapsody or Window's Media Player.

It's a bit of pain taking out the SD card every time I want to access the internal memory. Does anyone know of an easier way? Thanks. 😳
Exactly what kind of problems are you having?

I have an 8gb sd card in my Choc 3. I use the bluetooth file transfer system in OSX and the C3 to transfer files from my iTunes music library. I can transfer the mp3 files to the internal phone memory...

My Choc 3 gets "confused"

At least half the time when I try to look at my photos with my VX8560 Choc 3 the thing won't display them. Instead it will display some sort of placeholder for the photo. These photos were mostly taken with my previous phone, the LG VX8300 and are on my 2G MicroSD card, but even newly-taken photos with the Choc 3 itself can do this. Furthermore, the phone seems to crash and reboot itself on occasion. This happened once in a great while with the 8300 but only after using VZ-Navigator; the Choc 3 does it frequently and it happens after trying to look at photos as well as after or during my use of Navigator. My impression is that the firmware on this phone just isn't quite ready for prime time. However, I've not see similar claims of trouble li...

No I haven't had any crashing problems. I do have a place holder for one of my vids (already on the microSD card from my VX8600) but the new vids all work fine.

Maybe you did get a lemon?

Am considering the purchase of this phone but the blue is not my favorite and I already own a black phone. Anyone know if new colors are on the way???

Music sync hint

Just a warning to others. If you sync with Windows media player and have a 4 GB or larger card it will automatically sync ALL your music into the phone. you have to uncheck the automatic button under the sync tab to prevent this.
Hope this prevents anyone else from the hours of frustration that I experienced. Its not the phones fault, I am enjoying this phone so far. The FM transmitter is a must have!!!!!

I have an old local plan with VZ and I was told I have to change my plan to use this phone. I thought the excuse I usually heard was "HTML browser requires Nationwide plan" so what's up?

Ring and vibrate at the same time?

Can this phone be set to ring AND vibrate at the same time? Currently have the 8300 (great phone) and the ring and vibrate feature is great on it. Also, is the lock and unlock feature with the phone closed a big pain for someone who uses the phone a lot during the day?

Thanks.

Not recognizing SD music files after syncing

Just got my C3 and TRIED to sync it using Windows Media Player (Vista, 64b). I'm very computer proficient, but I've never bothered with this type of stuff since I prefer to do things manually.

I was trying to get mp3's loaded on the internal memory. Computer recognized the phone and it was displayed at the bottom of the player. But I am unable to press the "Start Sync" button at the bottom. I gave up and disconnected it. Now the phone won't recognize any of the music on the SD card. The same music files are on there that I used before, and the phone is recognizing pictures just fine. It's acting as if there is no music on the card.

I've tried going through the WMP help and it's useless. I hope someone has suggestions on fixin...

Nevermind!
Apparently my self-proclaimed computer proficiency wasn't enough to think of doing a hard restart on the phone (taking the battery out with the phone still on). That seems to have fixed it and it took less time than typing this reply.

Speakerphone

I was considering buying the Chocolate 3 but I had a couple of questions regarding the speakerphone.

Does this phone have a dedicated speakerphone that can remain turned on at all times and is the speakerphone auible enough to hear?

I had a VX8600 and the speakerphone was a huge disappointment. Which could only be activated while in a call and wasnt loud enough to hear when activated.

thanks.
Well, I don't use that feature very much. All I know about it is, that it only works with the phone opened. You can turn it on/off whenever you'd like. It sounds okay as far as quality and loudness. Not super quiet and not super loud, just decent I'd ...

personalize/Customize Ringtones

New to Verizon and new LG Chocolate 3 user. Transferred ringtones from my old phone to the new LG Chocolate 3. They landed in My Music. How do I use those to personalize ringtones for people in my contact list?
Um, well I don't think you can use anything from My Music as a ringtone. Your options are to either buy some, get some from a free site sent to your phone or try this: Put all your music on a memory card, if you have one, stick it in one of those bigg...
