interesting...

Can't wait to see some real-life reviews of this phone. I'm not due for a new phone until July, but I've long been interested in a smartphone... I just wanted one that was actually shaped like a PHONE.
Do smart phones use the extra data service? I mean do you have to pay extra besides your regular phone plan?

A sign of good things to come?

I couldn't help but notice that this looks like a phone and not a pda. Maybe this is a sign that VZW is FINALLY going to start phasing out their UI on higher end models so their more demanding customers can actually get some features on their $400 devices.
looks like they still have crippled the bluetooth somewhat, otherwise I hope you're right.

Not the first. What about the Samsung I600

It ran the first version of Windows Mobile.

It was a clamshell.

It sucked for a number of reasons but it was out about 2 years ago.

I know what phone you are talking about.

That's the first thing that came to mind when I read the post on this Pantech phone. Although it had Windows, I don't think it was Windows version 5 though

bluetooth

what the hell 😕

*The VZW PN-820 supports the Wireless Headset, Handsfree, Stereo (A2DP) Bluetooth Profiles. It does not support all Bluetooth Object Transfer (OBEX) Profiles. See Bluetooth for details.

I know this is like beating a dead horse, but why the hell would they block bluetooth on a windows mobile phone, but allow some file transfer profile sfor say the 8600-9900. I just don't understand them sometimes
Way to go Verizon... Kill another potentially good phone dead and this time you didn't even have to use your UI on the phone... 🤣 🤣 🤣
...
Please re-read. It says that it won't support ALL OBEX profiles. That means that it will have some OBEX ability.

Moto?

Is it me, or does the thing look like the old Moto V600? 😕
it's you... it looks more like the sanyo mm-9000 for sprint...
I agree. It looks exactly like the V600.
...
I agrre that it has a familiar and "tired" look about it. This phone would have rocked 3 years ago, but now... what's with the antenna nub?

That's a lot of features...

...packed into a little phone.

So...

... this is going to be something similar to what cingular has already release, except for the ev-do?
Surprise they didnt stick their UI on it!
EV-DO add-on alone should be valuable enough.

Its a shocker coming from you, undrgrnd, since you have been saying nothing but how great Sprint EV-DO all over this board.
