MediaFLO Launch Imminent
Why do we (the US) have to do this again?
Start up another standard? There already is DMB out in Europe...why make something incompatble...again?
Qualcomm will not make the same product and possibly violate the patent. I am sure MediaFlo is different and there are DMB limitation that we are not aware of.
That would be too easy! It would be nice if it was universal though.
Make something a lil differnt.. maybe a lil better and become big... make money.. thats why

Does anybody know anything about Cingular's launch plans for Mobile Tv, I'm pretty sure they're going to be using the DVB-H standard, but damn it, I am so, so, so sick of evil Verizon beating Cingular to absolutley every cool advancement in wireless, so, so sick of it.
But it seems as though Cingular is definetly working on Mobile Payments, at least that!!!
I've been with Cingular for 5yrs, I really don't want to leave, they don't control and restrict they're handsets like evil Verizon!!!

Handsets?
Does this require handsets with tuners like DMB and the other Streaming TV technologies? I haven't seen any leaked products or heard of any MedioFlo handsets. Unless it's all IP and they do it via software, but I thought Qualcomm specifically built out a network on some spectrum for this which would mean it would require tuners in the handsets.

Sprint is using MediaFLO and calling their service, "VUE"... so far Sprint has tested the Samsung m250 with their service.
