HD Calling

Sounds like something that's about 15 years too late. I mean really who makes phone calls anymore? Sure once in a while, but most people text or instant message. It's like rolling out cellular "home phones" to replace your wire line service. Everyone who's gotten rid of their home phone has done so years ago. HD calling's calling already came and went.

The real news here is the availability of VoLTE to Cricket customers

Until now this has only been available to branded, post-paid AT&T customers and none of their MVNOs.

This is important in areas where AT&T only broadcasts LTE on its low band holdings (like in most of NC for example).

The one issue I can see though is AT&T's normal insistence on only allowing VoLTE on certain devices (they are much more strict when it comes to VoLTE provisioning as compared to Verizon and T-Mobile).
