Discontinued?

I just discovered this little piece of awesomeness, and was planning to upgrade to it this month. what happened, Verizon? why was it only given a year's life?

actually about two months ago i saw it at the verizon store, but now everyone at verizon acts like this never existed, whats going on?
You could probably still find the device through a store. They'd probably have to order for you though.

I was just told 6.1 is available for this device now for VZW.

Cleaning/deleting Text and E-mail Inbox

Does anyone know of any firmware upgrade that allows the user to delete or clear all of the messages without having to do it one at a time?

Thanks

Case For Verizon Model

Anyone know where I can get a carrying case? All I've found are pouches. ๐Ÿ˜•
I picked up a Body Glove case at the Verizon store this weekend. It's a vertical case with a magnetic closure. low profile belt swivel. Neoprene with some rubber reinforcement on the sides and bottom. It works well, like it was made for it. I cou...

I know HTC makes an OEM one for the 5800. You know VZW though...they wouldn't sell it. Try the other carriers who carry the device. I think Qwest carries it.

Today screen appointments

I want to see my appointments for the whole day, not just the next one. ๐Ÿ‘ฟ My XV6700 did it without adding any 3rd Party applications like Agenda. Is this a Smartphone 'feature' because I can't figure out how to allow all my appointments to be displayed.

Custom ringtones?

How can I get all my custom ringtones applied for text messaging, IM's, and all other alerts? I can use em for ringtones, but nothing else? Please help a dude out! ๐Ÿคจ
You can record them as voice memos then set them as ringtones. Once you set it as a ringtone it will be in your ringtone list to use and set for whatever alert you want. When you're done just remember to go back and set the phone's ringtone again. ๐Ÿ™‚
Actually,
You just need to put them in the "Application Data/Sounds" folder and then they will show up.

Peace...
If you want to maintain your true mp3 or midi format, compared to risking ending up with qclp, You can set them up in the order and application of your choice in "Settings" under either the first or second category.

Do you have to have a data plan for this phone?

Ok this may be a stupid question but need to know. This phone looks really good. I used to carry a PDA and gave it up. With fire department pagers, phone and pda it was way too much to carry around.

Have been looking at the Voyager and my friends have the Env. I like both but if I can go with this phone, have a some sort of PDA with and stay on a regular phone plan we might have a winner for me.

Any help would be very much appreciated.
Ok, I have answered my own question. Now maybe I will just show my disappointment. I would like a phone such as this one that has some sort of pda that I can text, send pics and such and do not have to have a bloody data plan with!!!

Is that too m...

When I worked AZ. DPS and the City Fire Dept., I know exactly what your talking about. I had both the LG 8100 and the XV6700 at the time with the same issues you've mention. Then ironically that's when the Moto. Q came out which was the perfect answer...

Question, probably dumb but.....

I know its a PDA and the whole purpose is to have it run the windows software so you can do all the business stuff, but I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to have it just run the regular Verizon software? I like the phone style, but am not really ready for the PDA operating system (I don't need all those fancy features yet, lol).
not an option, unless you know how to code your own firmware, in which case you would be a very rich person right now.
Your stuck with the OS Verizon slaps on there.
sorry.

First, there's no such thing as a "Dumb Question", for the most part.... but like what johnnj2003 said is right. On all Smart phones / PDA's obviously come with a Pre installed OS ( Operating System ), including all the bells and whistle extras. Tha...

compare to Q9m

Can anyone tell me the main differences between this phone and the Moto Q9m, besides hte forma factor and Q9m accessing Vcast music.
Can either of these phones use VZ Navigator?
Can either of these phones use SDIO for wifi?
I've had both versions of the Q, and the XV6700, both not relevant to your question, but myself in the market again for a Smart phone / PDA, I've learned that at the moment vzw's Pearl is the only Smart phone / PDA that has VZ Navigator. However, a n...

Wi-Fi...

Does this phone have wi-fi for the verizon version?? - Keep getting conflicting opinions..

Help... - Thanks!!
No Wi-Fi on Verizon.
...
Disabling the WiFi circuitry in this phone is Verizon's way of saying:

"WANT INTERNET ACCESS? THEN WE WANT $45 EXTRA PER MONTH.
DON'T LIKE IT? WELL THEN TOUGH, F**K YOU, WE'RE VERIZON, OUR SH|T DOESN'T STINK, SO YOU CAN TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT"

5800 vs. Samsung SCH-i760?

Any thoughts on which one is better? I've got the 5800, but I am not crazy about it. I find it hard to use (but it could be b/c I am a newbie to smartphones). I like the i760 touchscreen, but heard some bad things about the i760. I can only exchange phones one more time and will be stuck with what I pick, so any advice is appreciated!

I want a smartphone mainly to push email, Internet access, use as a calendar, and open Word docs.

Also, is WiFi that big of a plus in the i760?

Thanks everyone!!

P.S. I am also posting in the i760 forum...
