$49.99 for pseudo unlimited data

No mas, no mas. I give. You win Verizon. I just ordered two LG VX-10000 (Voyager) handsets from Amazon. I'll save $600 a year.

They had no problem charging $44.99 for mandatory data packages back when one could barely use the XV6700 or Blackberry 7300 to check email. As long as Verizon is doing the raping, everything is great. I can't imagine how many torrents one has to download to exceed 100 GB though. I have tried to use data and getting to 50 was a struggle. Nowadays I rarely use more than 10 GB.

Another way for us to foot their acquistion bill

Just bought a new company, make the subscribers pay for it. I have unlimited data and have had to pay an additional $20/month for it. I even pay an additional $30/month for hot-spot service, yet this isn't good enough. Put pressure on the FCC and demand that action be taken. This twelve figure company is leaching us dry and we're allowing it. If you are newer to cell service and have had to suck up an allotment of data a month, I am sorry. You should never have had to, but that doesn't mean that millions of others should suffer-yes, grandfathered plans are in the millions. We're not being greedy, they are.

100GB Per Month

There is something out there called Wi-Fi. Use it.
Do you work for Verizon? LOL.
Actually the really pathetic thing here is that Verizon and other companies as well suckered in customers with a promise of Unlimited Internet. Now they are going back on the promise and pathetically try to blame the cu...

You need to understand something, when Verizon first offered that plan line many other carriers, unlimited is what it is, unlimited. For Verizon to be doing what they plan to do well do nothing more then to get themselves sued. Just like straighttalk....

Use WiFi?

VZW has traditionally been the highest of the majors. Some people use VZW as their primary data connection not because they are trying to get one over on the man its because VZW cellular data connection is the ONLY consistent servocw they can get at ANY price even if price was no object.

Hard to believe, but there are areas where a wired provider can only deliver 512 kbps to 1.5 mbps. So, theyre forced to lean on their smartphone hotspot or mobile cellular hotspot block.

VZW is just being impatient, they will naturally lose via churn and attrition those stragglers on unlimited data plans. Just let them be
While that is certainly true, I personally know some cheap ass SOB's who have a death grip on their unlimited plans and have hacked their phones to so as to let them tether their device to provide unlimited internet to their homes and offices. Just b...
