I think I will just take my GNOTE5 and my youtube,vine, periscope, musical.ly, and other services. Who in the US wants to watch Chinese and Indian content? The US content offering will be what? The phones will be $400 unlocked

There are numerous Chinese manufacturers that do not have phones in the North American market. ZTE, Huawei, HTC, are the only ones that have really had any success in the North American market so far.
As long as the LTE bands are compatible with US carriers, many of the phone are quite comparable to what is already out on the US market.
I have a Gionee and not a problem with it. Bought it unlocked for under $400.
Rather than a 2 year phone contract with a carrier or paying over $500 outright for the phone, hopefully more selection drives the prices down.
HTC is not Chinese, they are based in Tawain
