And Apple will still be putting out entry level 8GB/16GB iPhones

That's pretty sad.
apple hasnt offered an 8 GB in quite some time now they will most likely continue to offer a 16, as most manufacturers will since not eveyone needs a lot of storage.

But think about it who really neeeds that much storage, its a really small market ...

Saw this one coming

Not sure if I said it here or not, but when Samsung dropped their memory cards in their devices I advised everyone I knew that this wasn't Samsung being an Apple knockoff. Samsung is the number 1 memory supplier in the world, so why would they shoot themselves in the foot by making a device that doesn't support their own technology? Because they were developing an alternate technology and had the power to move the market to their technology by first doing away with the old technology on their own devices, and then releasing new devices with the new memory. Lo and behold, here it is.

I sincerely believe that the GS7 only has a Micro-SD slot because they took so much flack for leaving it off last year's devices and weren't ready to put UFS ...
