SIM phone book

I bought my MotoQ9h from a family member. She bought it new. It seems to be working perfectly fine but I cannot get my contacts from my SIM.
Are there magic words I've got to say or what?
Help please! 😕

I use Kinoma to play Youtube videos. There are other applications but I have not tried them yet.

How to get the DEL key?

Hello..

It was impossible for me to find how to get the DEL key on my Motorora Q9H smartphone.

The BACKSPACE is made with the key to the left of the power on switch, but, the DEL key?

Thanks

Q9h no more?

Just saw that AT&T has pulled the Q9h from their site, and motorola shows the phone out of stock on their site.

Any news on a new version? I've googled, and all I see are old press releases.

I was about to but the silver Q, the most recent version, but lost the race. There are a few on ebay, but would prefer to buy new or refurb.

Long Live the Q9h

I've been with the Q9h since it came out. I've previously had Blackberries, and an IPhoney and they can't hold a candle to the Q. For the record, Windows Mobile does not suck. You just have to know that every once in awhile you have to start with a clean slate and reformat like all other windows products. I put a fresh copy of Windows Mobile 6.1 every 2 months and it runs as fast and smooth as it was new. There are so many apps out there for backing up the Q it makes it a breeze. I can guarantee when Windows Mobile 6.5 arrives some talented hacker will find a way to get it on the Q9h.

LONG LIVE THE Q9H!!!!!!!!

Glad you like it. Wanna buy mine. I can't wait until my contract is over so I can change out phones. The keyboard is unreadable in anything but full light or full dark. Anything in between and you are tilting the device every which way to try and read...

Pocket Informant on the Q9h

Anyone use Pocket Informant 8 on their Q? Has anyone tried to send a calendar or contact to their PC via bluetooth (beam). I can do this on the default calendar, but can't using PI..it gives me an error. Thanks

Silver/Grey vs Black

The silver/grey Q9h that replaced the black version has a couple of upgrades to it that make it worth buying if you're offered the choice between the two.

AT&T likes the OTA updating feature of the silver/grey phone, but IMHO this is going to remain largely useless to the typical user of the device.

A more significant upgrade is the inclusion of Crystal Talk on the silver/grey phone. Making calls one after another and comparing the black phone with the silver/grey phone, you will definitely notice the difference in call quality.

All of the silver/grey phones ship with WM 6.1, so they'll all have threaded messaging and the other minor improvements of WM 6.1

One downside: In certain lighting conditions, you will notice that the b...

Moto Q Global and low light

I love my Moto Q Global but am getting frustrated trying to see the key board in low light conditions. No problem when it's totally dark. But in between full light and no light I find the key board very difficult to see. Has anyone found a way to increase the backlight on the keyboard?
There is no way to do it, sorry.

MOTO Q9h unlocked for T-Mobile

If i were to buy one of these, would i be able to unlock it for T-Mobile? I fso, would I be able to still have all the features that I should have with T-Mobile and which plan shoud I use with it and how much would it cost? 😕
I did and I had it unlocked, but for some reason I only get a "G" instead of an "E" but I am getting data, Im assuming its T-zones WAP and not true EDGE. I called CC and they said Ill have to switch from my BB plan to the smartphone plan but my Dash a...

Iris Web Browser

I installed the latest version of Iris web browser today. Yawn......I'm not impressed, at least not on my Moto Q9h. Some of the issues with Iris:

Bookmarks - seems to have little control over managing bookmarks. I couldn't organize into folders my imported bookmarks in the folders I had in Opera and IE.

Navigation - I tried using the cursor. Slow and cumbersome. Returned to normal WM6 nav. It was fast but hard to see where I was. No improvement here.

Nav buttons on side - With Iris the up/down buttons did not function. Back and select did work, though.

Default browser - Altho I selected Iris to be my default browser, I could not get it to come up with the browser nav button on my device. I still...

Thoughts on iPhone, Blackberry or Motorola Q Global from experienced users!

Just looking for people who have used all three devices - personally, I am not all that impressed with Windows Mobile. Just seems unimpressive!

I mostly use the device for (outside of being a phone!) text messaging and email - would use more for managing contacts and extension of Outlook with a good UI.

For those that have used all three, which do you prefer and what do you like about each ... if you had to get one now, which device? (course, if I was going for the iPhone I would hold out for G3).

Thank you!
I'm trying to decide between the Blackjack II, Iphone 3G and the Moto Q 9H, so I'd love to read responses to the OPs question. I need to make a decision in the next day or two, so am very interested in what people think about these choices.

General Questions on Configuration

1. How do I use smaller icons in the folders? Are there themes like on the Blackberry? I already unclicked "use large icons" in home screen settings but that has no effect on the folders.
2. How do I move icons from one folder to another and change the order within a folder?
3. How do I stop this thing from pocket button pressing without having to enter a password every time I use it?
4. How do I EXIT from programs with no exit selection? (IE for example).
5. Is there a list of things I can shut off to conserve battery power?
6. How do I stop an alert during play? If I set an MP3 file to play for an alert, it plays to the end, even though I have already retrieved the message!
7. How do I reconfigure the shortcut keys? For example setti...

Answer to #4
Navigate to Task Manager. Add a speed dial entry (i.e. I use the 9 key) to get into it. Then choose the option "Kill" or "Kill All Tasks" to close whatever programs you want.

Answer to #5

6.1 update from Motorola

Had anyone tried the update? How is it working for you? do you like 6.1 or 6 better?
Threaded SMS is a good improvement that most of us will like.

Personally, I do not like the flipping home screen and I will usually have a home screen that eliminates this feature.

But the threaded SMS, together with other minor improvements, ma...

Does the Q9H have an indicator light or not?

I was led to believe that it has an indicator light in the top right corner, but I can't find this to be the case. I bought a used Q9H from someone on Howard forums, I haven't received it yet, and I was just wondering this. I think it may be a light sensor. So, please "enlighten" me.
Thanks.
you are indeed referring to a sensor not an indicator light

Availability of the Moto Q Global

I plan to move over to ATT from Verizon. I want the Moto Q Global phone but can't find it at any ATT retail store in Denver. The response I keep getting is that they haven't stocked it for more than six month. I'm prepared to order my phone online but am I buying a dated produuct? I've read every review of the Moto Q Global it and there is very little negative about it.

Bernie
I believe that they let the stock slide a bit to prepare for the Motorola Q Global with Windows Mobile 6.1.

I'm on my way to get it today. Unfortunately, few sales associates are aware of the phone and its availability.
