Battery cover for N95... but the phone is from FRANCE

My husband bought me a N95 (Not 8gb) in January in Hong Kong... BUT the phone is a FRANCE phone....

I dropped it last night and now need a new battery cover... US Nokia says they can't help cause the US version is "slightly" different and won't fit...

They suggested I go on the Nokia FRANCE website. I cannot read or speak French, so that was not a big help 🙄

Anyone know how I can get a replacement cover? I feel terrible having a 500.00 phone with tape on it ☚ī¸

Thank you!

ScreenSaver blocking Garmin XT on N95

My Garmin XT was working fine on my Nokia N95 (model N95-3).

Lately, within seconds of satellite connection and ready to navigate, the screen saver comes on and blocks the map; It happens even if I am driving. It was working properly without this issue before - something changed - not sure how to get to back to prior condition.

I appreciate a solution to fix this.

GarminXT Vs Nokia Maps

Hi

I installed GarminXT for North America and it works fine.

What is the benefit of the Nokia Maps? Is this duplicate? Does the Maps also offer guided navigation as long as you download the Maps etc and install them?

Also how do you enter Flight Mode?

Thanks

Need a Case for N95 - acrilic perhaps

I bought a N95 - I need a good protection for it.

Is acrylic better than silicone?

I am on the conservative side - so be biased in recommending it to me.

I will also be looking for software/apps - GPS, etc. Pls give me your recommendations.
I bought mine of ebay. it came with the acrylic & silicone protector. Also came with the screen protector.
Here's the skinny:
Acrylic is less bulky on the phone and also covers the screen. I liked it, but I dropped it and well it cracked in several ...

Backing up phone memory to microsd card problem

Okay, so i noticed this one awhile ago but i had to test my theory to see if it holds true. You know when you're typing something and the word you want doesn't exist? You add the word to the phone and continue so next time the word is there for you and you don't have to manually enter each letter. Well, as it turns out on my N95-3 firmware v20 when you do a phone backup on to the memory card, via the memory application in tools, you lose every word you saved in the phone, and have to go back and re-enter them all over again.

Does anybody else suffer from this too?

N95 8GB messed up

My N95-8GB has different colored lines on the screen that go in and out, i think it is because of a website i went on, the site on my home computer does the same thing on my monitor with these lines, but on my phone the lines show up on all screens on my phone. is there anyway to get rid of these lines? i have only had it for a few months!

music player and 3g

has anyone noticed that when the phone is switching between 3g and edge the music player freaks out?

im in a area that is just now getting 3g (well, here in the next little bit) and I noticed that sometimes the 3g icon will show up in the top left and the music player will stop. there is no signal on the 3g network but it still seems to delay it or shut down the entire application. other than that i havent noticed anything.

i just hard reseted it so we will see if that takes care of the issue. just checking to see if anyone else had experienced it.

GPS Service

I am looking to getting this phone as a gift for my brother who will be going to Sub Sahara Africa for 2 years (peace corps).

Does the GPS use the cell phone towers or is it a completely seperate hardware that uses the satellites with the appropriate software (e.g. Garmin)? I'm assuming if its just hardware with right application, the price will just be the cost of the software, correct?

Thank you in advance.

N95 8GB version- camera over exposure???

Hi Guys, I have a question here. I owned the N95 (regular), it was a great phone, great pics and everything. Then i upgraded to the N95 8GB last week. So- the pictures the camera takes are HORRIBLE!!!! absolutely overexposed and no normal daylight picture can be made at all!!! what's going on? I never had that with the regular N95. I am not changing settings etc... its all in auto. Why does this 8GB version overexpose everything? I don't want to change it to a less exposure every time i m making a new picture... it takes time and the moment is already lost by the time you change the settings manually. it was always perfect in auto on the regular N95. did i receive a defective phone? does anyone know what problem i could be having? I m speech...

damaged n95

hello.
i am the proud owner of a nokia n95, and have been for about a year. unfortunately, one day my back-light stopped working and i can no longer see the screen at night or in low light. i want to salvage the phone and not be stuck with a $700 paperweight. nokia claims there is evidence of water damage and corrosion, but i know for a fact that it was never wet, i baby that phone, and the little sticker on the back hasn't changed color. a few questions... do you forumers have any suggestions as to how to get this fixed somewhere or somehow to make it useful again? if not, does anyone want it for parts. it works perfectly fine except for the one flaw. or, does anyone know of a website that would show me how to canibalize it and use it...

N95 vs N95 8Gb?

Now that the N95 8Gb will soon be available in the US, I am considering buying it or the N95-3. Other than screen size, exterior color, and memory slot vs. internal memory, what are the other differences? I hear that the N95-3 will get a price reduction down to $599, so I'm having a hard time justifying paying the extra $150 for the N95 8Gb, especially when 6 and 8Gb memory cards are available.
As far as price goes, the N95-3 is already $499:

It is also 549 on Dell's web site, so if you find additional coupons, you can get it even lower than 499...

N95 Texting/Ease of Use

I'm torn between an SE K850i and the NokiaN95-3. My biggest uses are talking, texting and the camera.

~How easy is it to txt with this phone? I'm very happy with the SE operating system and it's highly intuitive. Can I expect something similar from the N95?

~Is the Symbian OS easy to navigate/use? Is it pretty quick? I have little patients for slow electronic items and the SE op system blazes and I can navigate through it very quickly. Is the N95 Similar in this fashion?

Thanks

I've seen about 100 different ones on ebay.

Anyone have continued good luck with a particular brand or type?

Should i just look for 2x6 size?

Thanks for any input you may have to offer.

Why not 8 Gig's in a N95-3?

So I just bought my black N95-3, and I love it, and I read the manual, and it says you can have memory up to 2gb's (swappable). So, my question is: I see that there is a 6gb micro SD card, and I have also seen an 8gb micro SD card. Can I put one if these into my N95 and get the max memory space, or will it only read up to 2 gb's?
Thanks.
Oh no, I know people who use the 6GB and it works fine. These phones will support up to 32GB.

N95 Problems

Folks, I'm a tech guy who work with technology all day and while I was very excited to get the N95, I have become very disappointed with it. There are a number of issues with the phone that Nokia has failed to let the public know. 1. It has a number of bugs in the firmware(which they have release three updates for since the phone came on the market, they have now released a updated firmware in Asia for this phone), ranging from the phone rebooting by itself, to it's features not working correctly(camera, internet, TV out and most of all battery life - very poor). 2. Nokia's customer service is very poor - they are counting on most people not using the phone fully, but just to makereceive call, play music and and take photos. They don't like...

Yes, there were/are a number of issues with the original N95-1, which have been fixed with the new N95-3 - especially the new battery. There will be new firmware updates for the N95-1 as well, which hopefully will fix any remaining issues.

N95 Maybe coming to AT&T

I spoke with a "rep" today and he claimed that the N95 is on it's way to AT&T in September. The only change is the MORE secure slider feature and a longer battery life.....everything else is the same. Also check out:

Your story lost credibility when you said you spoke to a "rep". They are 99.99999999999% clueless.
