Monkey See Money Do

The timing of this is kinda funny don't you guys think?

But this is a good thing. It shows Verizon takes AT&T/Cingular seriously and will do what it takes to be #1.
the time isnt funny at all, becuase this is another period in which vodafone can opt to option they have with verizon.. there are points in the year they can and can not..

but this is also expected especially since of the T and bell south merger.....

in addition to the buying partners i said, they also should look at sprint's embarq (when it would be spunoff), and alltel's wireline business when they spin off it.

What will this mean for Verizon?

Can anyone tell me what this will mean for Verizon and their customers?
well there are 2 implacations..

1. if verizon were to buy out vodafone's stake they would obviously have to make up for the hefty $50+B price tag which means probably that customers would have to pay more for their services to make up.

2 however...

It means that VZW can go GLOBAL BABY! 🙂 Maybe they'll have a really good north america plan. I don't think customers will pay the bill here, since 45% of the profits go to voda, the cost will be made up within a few years... whats another 40bn to vz ...

verizon wireless' and Vodafone's worth (based on subscribers)

just based on subscribers(becuase that is the real price of what many companies are paying)

verizon wireless= 51.3 million
the recent dollar amount per subscriber from recent purchases= $2,000

total= $102B
spectrum= $47B

========

vodafone

subscribers= (counting their majority stakes of 50.1+%) 126 million
$2000 per customer= $252B

spectrum= (probably more then $47B. i cant find this number)

========

so as you can tell it would be a very powerful worldwide company...

so why not?
