What About Infrastructure?

Purchasing all the spectrum in the world will not automatically equate to more coverage. Better in metro areas? Perhaps. However, these carriers can't just say they are going to add a tower here or place antennae there on that stucture. There is much red tape involved with ordinance and code variations that are often handed declined approvals from towns and villages in rural areas, even suburbs.

We must keep in mind that VZW and ATT have coverage mostly by way of merges and acquisitions of smaller rural carriers over many years; not by building new towers. T-Mobile,Sprint and Dish would have a particularly hard time to negotiate further additions to existing structures and/or new towers. And even if approved, the money to build or add is...

I seriously doubt that either Sprint or Tmobile will ever expand much beyond cities and towns located near the interstate highways. However, acquiring spectrum accomplishes several things: it bolsters the coverage that they already have, it increases ...

Hold your horses.

While I agree with most that Dish is a fairly terrible company to deal with and I in no way want to see this happen, lets wait 5 minutes and watch it fall apart just like the last 5 attempts DT has made to see of T-Mobile. In 2 months it'll be rumored that someone else is making a bid too. At this point I think the only person not rumored to buy T-Mobile is the Pope.
No that is so not true dude. No one else will be allowed to buy T-Mobile. No need to scare us. Dish is the only thing good to happen for T-Mobile at this point. Be sure to reread the article. You will then realize John Legere will be running both comp...

Please No...

Dish are corporate idiots, they don't know how to run a satellite tv service, much less a major cellular carrier.

Look at how much spectrum they have and look at how little they've done with it for Years. Their credit department sucks, their activations department sucks, their cust care sucks, their stupid bill credit system sucks, their installer network services department sucks, the underpaid installers suck, and so in the end what should be a pretty easy thing to sell gets trashed by multiple levels of suckiness.

Ive had more dish installs returned than any other service or carrier, all due to someone else down the line's screw ups (often on top of other screw ups).

If they merge expect Tmo to fall off post haste once they s...

I have never used Dish so can't comment on what you've said. But, they're going to have to come up with $35 billion for DT's share of the company, and I guess somewhere around $10 billion for the rest.

Do they have the cash stream to pay that ba...

No you are definately wrong about things going downhill. Didn't you not read carefully about the fact that John Legere is going to become the CEO/Chairman of the combined company once the transaction becomes finalized? Both Charlie/John Legere agreed ...

Yay JOHN LEGERE WILL BECOME NEW CEO OF BOTH DISH/T-MOBILE

For those of you that want to talk nonsense about this merger with Dish wanting to merge with T-Mobile not working/being a total disaster must be really out of you guys minds right now.And No you guys are definately wrong about things going downhill with T-Mobile being ruined by Dish Network. Didn't you guys not read carefully about the fact that John Legere is going to become the CEO/Chairman of the combined company once the transaction becomes finalized? Both Charlie/John Legere agreed that Charlie would step down as becoming Chairman, while John Legere Officially becomes the NEW CEO OF BOTH DISH/T-MOBILE? There was no need for you guys to sit up there and assume that Dish would remain the same once the merger gets finalized by FCC/DOJ. C'...
