WiMax, Flarion, UMTS TD-CDMA...

I think Sprint is trialing all of the above. Last I heard they were still a member of the WiMax forum. Of course they're tight w/QCOM. I beleive Nextel trialed Flarion (in N.C.) prior the merger and QCOM's acquistion of Flarion.

Looks like Sprint is trying to keep bets on most all horses in the 4G race.
Much will depend on what the protectionist EU wants to do. I doubt anyone wants the whole UMTS/CDMA fight to repeat itself in 4g. According to a Wireless Week article last year they are contemplating Flarion's technology as a viable 4g alternative. Si...

It's a fistfight for 4g!

All these platforms are leaving me dizzy.
ME2! So many acronyms to keep straight lol. Hopefully it turns out to be one clean winner. I don't want a repeat of the beta vs VHS days in the world of Wireless! We alreadymight have one of those on our hands with blu ray vs hd dvd!
