Address Book phone # default

Call me a late bloomer, but I just got my 1st PDA smartphone and love my new Curve. Question - is there a way to change the default when adding a received or previously called number to the address book. Currently, when asked if I want to add the number to the address book, it automatically get enters in the"work" field. Most folks I talk to are cell numbers - is there a way to change the default to add the number to "mobile" instead?
Not that I have seen. I just use the cut and paste feature to make life easier.
I have noticed it will automatically put the # in as a Mobile # if you save it from an SMS or MMS.

Best AT&T Smartphone??

I may be switching to AT&T soon for my new job, and need to get a smartphone for email/work purposes. However, I want all the features I like with Sprint (Sprint TV, ringer, music downloads, etc. - I think they have a version of MobiTV, and Video downloads). Does anyone know what the best phone is that AT&T offers? I know they will be rolling out 3G coverage here within the next couple months, so I was searching through the 3G phones online too. I was looking at the Blackjack, the Curve, the Pearl, or the Treo 750.. the 8525 seems too bulky to me. I also want a camera. It seems like, with what I want (camera and 3G services), that I am down to the Blackjack and Treo. I'm not sure though. Cost isnt a concern, nor are the additional da...

Ok well i work for AT&T and I have the curve. It is amazing! The internet speed is pretty slow (not 3G) I use the internet daily for work and pleasure and I really have gotten used to it. You can download ringers, music, and things of that nature thro...

8300 won't receive text to one another..

This is a weird one, and ATT Tech Support can't figure it out and wasted quite a lot of my time doing the "check list" diagnosis...

My buddy and I both have a 8300 Curve BB. We can send and receive text messages just fine, to our wives, friends, everyone... EXCEPT him and I. I can't send to him, he can't send to me. It doesn't give an error message, just goes to no mans land. I guess the fact is: we do not RECEIVE one another text messages that we send to one another (they sure get billed, so it's sent to some server) we just can't receive it.

Any idea??

Voice memo running time of one minute?

Is there a way to extend this with additional memory, i have a voice recorder now that i use to take meeting minute for some extensive construction meeting and i would like to use my curve to merely extricate the sound into a text file.

I guess I'm a little slow!

Thoughts on iPhone, Blackberry or Motorola Q Global from experienced users!

Just looking for people who have used all three devices - personally, I am not all that impressed with Windows Mobile. Just seems unimpressive!

I mostly use the device for (outside of being a phone!) text messaging and email - would use more for managing contacts and extension of Outlook with a good UI.

For those that have used all three, which do you prefer and what do you like about each ... if you had to get one now, which device? (course, if I was going for the iPhone I would hold out for G3).

Thank you!
I'm assuming by g3 you mean "3g" as in hspd. But..I have had experience with all 3. My coworker has the iphone and I have had a chance to use it for extended time as he has let me test it. I like it. I think its a great phone and obviously there a...

Curve Outlook Inbox USB Sync

Confirm that there is NO WAY to do this except over the air? I can USB sync my Outlook calendar and contact, but only the INBOX email folder tree shows up on the Curve. The folders are all empty.

Phone as a modem?

I understand there is some patch that can be found to sync a Curve via USB to your computer and use it as a modem? Is that true? I know you can pay extra money and get the tethering service but I would rather find the patch. I have tried google.com and crackberry.com and none seem to turn up results.
its not any kind of patch you just call your service provider and they will walk you through it if you have the blackberry plan it should have unlimited internet so thats what the computer uses ... i use it all the time with my laptop it works great a...

Alarm?

I have a 4 gb card for my curve and I want to have a song wake me up in the morning. When I select a song, it only plays for about 30 seconds and starts over again. Is there a way to make the entire song play as my alarm?

Also for those who have Opera Mini 4 everytime I try and install it it says failed to connect to the internet however I have full bars (UMA or EDGE). Anyone expierence these dilemmas before? Thanks

Dust Under the Screen

So there is already a lot of dust under the screen of my curve, it's a little bit annoying I must say, I also don't understand how it really gets there. Boo.
I am seeing the same thing, and once the iPod frenzy dies down at my AT&T store I plan to bring it in. Love the phone, but hate the dust, which makes viewing in sunlight really tough.
...
Because of dust under the screen I took my Curve back to the AT&T store where I purchased it. It was well beyond the 30 day in-store return policy. They connected me with AT&T customer service and they have sent me a new Curve. A good outcome.

please help!!!!!Question!!!!!!question?????

when i used to have my w810 i would go to this one web page .. now that i have the curve it wont open it say " your browser does not support INLINE FRAMES or is currently configured to display INLINE FRAMES"
That would mean that the browser does not support something that is on that web page. The Blackberry browser is not the best that is for sure. The Curve also has an Icon for "Media Net" on the desktop, have you tried going to the same page from that b...

G.O.A.T.

Thought my 8300 was the best device I'd ever encountered.

THEN THEY MADE A LIAR OUTTA ME!

The enhanced 8310 with GPS is now, hands down, THE best device, personal and/or business related on the market to date! It is CON-less. It is the G.O.A.T.

MORE PROBLEMS

Periodically, while browsing the web, watching a movie, on google maps, or just completly randomly, the phone just turns off and reboots. It doesn't happen all that often. Maybe like 2-3 times a week.

Is this normal? my friend has one and it doesn't happen to him, he also doesn't have all the media i have put on my mediacard.

I put 2 movies each about 300mb, some music, and some pictures. One day the blackberry wouldn't even read the card. I tried taking it in and out, rebooting a few times. nothing. Put the card in my cardreader for the computer, and it wouldn't show up. SOOO I reformatted it to the blackberry and put all the stuff back on, but hopefully it doesn't do that agian when i have more stuff on that I can't back up.

Because I have and I am loooooooooooovin it ๐Ÿ˜
