$2.50???

That's just ridiculous. Very few people will actually use it. If the employee plan gives it to you for free, then I'm not complaining (like they do for vision, RL, downloads, and multimedia channels).
Employee Plans no longer provide downloads free of charge and if people currently pay $2.50 for ringtones which are under 30 seconds in length I think they will pay $2.50 to download the entire track.

why would anybody do this when you can download an MP3 for 99 cents and play it on a ROKR e1, MPX220 or a 6620 or......

Launch Info

Yes, it is available Monday, with the system updates finishing today.

The a940 and the MM-9000 will be out shortly, providing access to this service, as well as a couple of unannounced phone due mid-November.

EVDO is actually pretty cool. I live in a test market and it zooms how they say it does. The music thing seems iffy, but hey, it's amazing speed.

Other available EVDO phones

The Sanyo 9000 and Starcom 6700 are also available in store. Starcom is formerly Audiovox. Unfortunately the 9000 doesn't have Bluetooth. Really can't wait for Sanyo to finally come out with a Bluetooth phone.
The Sanyo 5700 is rumored to have Bluetooth & WiFi.
