Way to go

Since the carriers are greedy and don't want to help with curbing stolen devices because they don't want to cut into their insurance profits, guess this is the next best thing. Kudos, Android.
Hmm.. reading the newspiece, it seems that the app lets you neatly prepare a stolen phone for whoever wants to use it next, actually.

Reset lock PIN?

Wipe information from phone?
That isn't going to do anything to deter theft, it is only going to make it easier to recover from a theft and make sure that you don't lose any data.....not one single theft will be prevented.

What are you even talking about? The carriers are greedy and don't want to help with curbing stolen devices because of insurance. How does insurance stop theft? You need insurance if your phone is stolen. This app doesn't stop people from stealing ...
