Isn't the main idea of Google talk / Hangout to be able to chat anonymously? Just link the app to your gmail account and you're all set? Who needs SMS? Is Google again answering a question no one asked? We already have SMS, BBM, WhatsApp and more apps for these kind of messaging, Hangout is a different animal, and I am annoyed by the direction Google is taking it.

So why do we have SMS in Voice then? Can we just get development of one or another and get MMS supported? I mean, it's only been 5 years in the waiting. SMH
You sound like you use G+, at least more than I do-lol. Now that iGoogle is going away I'm wondering if this is where most people will land as their home page.
