For Eric/Rich

What kind of camera do you use to take the photos of the phones?
For the reviews that I do, I am using a Sony 7.2MP Cyber-Shot DCS-V3.

Rich and Eric L both use different cameras.

ic402 rvw also forgot Direct Send

In the otherwise good review article, besides forgetting to mention the extremely handy Direct Talk capability (which no other phones offer) as "bigdaddycrawfish" pointed out, the article also failed to mention Direct Send. Direct Send allows one person to send contact info from one Nextel phone directly to another Nextel phone with one push of the PTT button. Another Nextel exclusive that comes in very handy all the time.

No mention of direct talk?

Did you have a chance to try out dt?

As pertains to the "3 S's"

"Please wait while the Nextel subscriber is located."

Not a fan

I am very intrigued by Nextel and have considered getting service with them a few times now, but I can not force myself to carry around a big ugly phone. These phones make me want to throw up. I can understand that Nextel provides good service, but I guess I am just too shallow for their phones. I mean come on. At least make it bluetooth so I can hide it in my pocket!
quit your bitching and take a look at the i880 its the ****. it's blue-tooth! its 2.0 cam. expandable memory, video, mp3 player, chirp it has everything!

No EVDO?

The data technology is 1xRTT or so it seems. What's the point of the hybrid phone?
Give Sprint/Nextel a break... this si the first of its kind and is only available in a few markets... once all the kinks are worked out and the hybrid is nationwide, you will see evdo hybrid devices...

vs ic502

FWIW, I originally had the ic402 and ic502 listed together, when I thought the only difference was the external display.

But it turns out the ic502 is also ruggedized while the ic402 is not, and there are size and weight differences. For that reason I decided to move the ic402 to its own page.
good point... thats why whenever sprint released them within they were called the motorola racer and the motorola racer lite...
