I have a connection at verizon who is upper managment. I have known about this phone for a month now. Verizon owns the rights to it and as of now have scheduled its release in May '05. It will be their first 2.0 megapixel camera with VCAST and Bluetooth as well as a many other features.

hate to break this to ya but verizon puts out phones when they want, so the is NEVER a confirmed date with verizon...If it comes out Awesome for verizon customers..if it dont then...well thats what we all thought would happen.

There is NO way this phone will be avail in May. Maybe May '06! But on the realistic side, I'd say its fair to place this phone in a Q4 release, you know, right before thanksgiving.
A970 looks like SCH-200
i think this A970 is definitely going to be released with Verizon. The phone looks exactly same as the SCH-200 which was released in Korea last year. The really cool thing about SCH-200 is that it has TV-OUT function meaning you can watch the photo or video directly from TV by using TV-OUT cable. I believe this phone will also have 2X optical zoom and auto focus. I have a LG VX8000 now. I can't wait to have this phone 🙂

Samsung A970 Graphics/Pics Quality???
This question is going out to those people who either went to CTIA or has had the opportunity to Test out the phone. How does the Graphics look(clean or choppy) and Camera quality. From What I have been told it can record up to 1 hr video as well. Finally what about the sound quality? Hopefully Phonescoop will have specs online soon

The only A970 models at CTIA do not have working batteries.
For the general public, they're only visible under glass, but I've been able to play with one a few times already. You can bet I tried to turn it on, but no dice... ☹️

Why does VZW takes forever to release phone?
Why do they take so long to release phones. Quality control you say? thats bull if you asked me. The service is great but after all that testing the phones still have glitches. example T720,v710,PTT.
