Local pride

I met a Taiwanese expat recently who told me how her family back home chastised her for carrying a Samsung phone. She should have been using an HTC from her home country, said her parents.

I shouldn't have been surprised, but it reminded me of how almost no one here will chastise you for not carrying a Motorola.
The only thing I really see some American pride in is buying cars. Some people just buy Ford or GM because they're American.

With most things though, it's all imports, so we don't have much choice... And I'm not going to pick a subpar product just...
