I Can See It Now...

You go to your work pick up your pay check, happy that it's payday. While at the bank to cash it, you realize that you forgot to tell your wife to pick up the kids, you take out your nifty samsung phone, and begin to dial her number. next thing you know, the bank guards have you hog tied on the ground. the newspaper says "Madman waves black, gun-like object in bank" tsk, tsk, tsk.
Great theory, I agree Laughing

Voice Dial vs Waving Phone Around to call people

Wow... Why would anyone want to waive their phone around to dial numbers when they can just say "John"... Me and my buddy were talking about what is next after the "video" phones.. and I guess the next cool thing is waiving your phone around....What do you guys think about the whole waive your phone?
I think that whoever uses that phone is gonna look like a retarded mime, and they're probably gonna get laughed at. I know i'll be laughing!! Laughing Laughing
it is the stupidest invention since Motorola

Arrgh (Mr T.)

I pity the fool who don't wanna wave his phone in the air like a retatrded mime. I pity the fool!!
So in an action killing game I would actually have to do a stabbing motion with the phone in my hand? If so, i'm gettin one.

Rubber Grips?

I hope this phone has some rubber grips on the side of it where one would be holding it. Considering it'll be waved around alot it may be prone to slipping out of a persons hands. Laughing

Or maybe its some big conspiracy for people to buy a phone, make it really slippery, so when people go to wave it around it'll fly out of their hands resulting in it shattering into pieces. But they'll have liked the phone so much and the attention they got from it, that they'll go and buy another, only to have that one shatter as well, sooner or later. Crazy idea... but ya never know. Korean news channel »

P.S. The other game phone in the video is made by LG (another Korean phone maker)
Very Happy
Thanks for the video. So far it looks like this feature is pointless unless you like video games. But I can see this technology really taking off in mobile handsets in the future. Very Happy

i can see all types of auto wrecks cause some lame is waving his phone around trying to dial a number.
and with 2 accidents under my belt in the past 2 years, this is the last thing i need Rolling Eyes
as with any type of technology a certain degree of self-control and common sense is required or at least recomended. im just curious if it is going to require over exagerated movement or if one can use it like a pencil. Because that whole foot tall 3 ...

Forward Thinking

while i don't know exactly what people might do with this today, i do think this is very creative and i'd expected to become important in the future.

They did not mention but i wonder if the is feature might help radio reception in the future. If the radio knows where it is going then it and the base station might be able to best optimize the link quality.

When the phone recieves a signal it has no way of knowing which direction it is coming from. Cell phone signals are not directional.

Surprised Can it make a cappucino too?? Or solve all of my life's problems?? Shocked ...I'm sold if thats the case. Hell, im sold even if it cant make cappucino or solve all of my life's problems Very Happy
If the model is actually SCH-S310 then it should be for Verizon wireless. All of Verizon wireless samsung phones start with SCH. But it could also go to some other carrier that is on the same type of network.
