50 Text messages max??

So I bought this phone used off of craigslist. Everything is fine on it, except i can only have a max of 50 text messages before it starts sending me a error message saying "Memory is full, message rejected". Does anyone else have this problem? I have gone through the menus meticulously searching for the reason, and cannot find anything. Phone memory says its 45mb, i have a 64mb card in there with nothing on it. The messages i send and receive are nothing more then text, no icons or images...so i just dont get it. Does anyone else have this problem, and if so, how is it fixed?

Defective already??

I have owned the m610 since the first day the store had it and I love it! But, recently i have noticed that from time to time the external screen with not turn off until the phone is opened and closed at which point the internal screen stays on and the external screen stays off until the phone is restarted. As you can imagine, this is an enormous drain to the battery and I now have to send it to Samsung to get a new one. Any ideas of why this is occurring?

Why did Sprint drop the M610?

It seems like the M610 just came out. Why did Sprint drop it?
My thoery is that the RAZR2 is what they think is a replacement for it, yet the m610 still has better features then the RAZR2 minus the huge external touchscreen.

Can the mobile browser functions be disabled

My son and I both have this phone and we really like it.

The only problem that I have is that I have not been able to prevent accidental (or non-accidental) use of the browser. In my latest bill there was a $52 charge for a 1 megabyte download. My cell phone provider (Bell Mobility) says that they cannot disable this feature in a customer profile and the only way to disable this would be in the cell phone settings (if the device supports it). I think this is a sleezy policy and I won't be doing business with them in the future.

Does anyone know if it is possible to disable the browser?

Thanks
WR
Yes they can. Its actually pretty easy.
(This is based on Sprint) but if your phone menu is different, just find your tab labeled security.
Go to settings, then security. It will ask you for a code, enter the last 4 of your phone number. Once in, y...

memory card error with any card larger than 64mb

I have a 1 gb and 2 gb micro sd card and the phone will not read or write to either of them.

when formatting the card-
after i enter in the lock code it prompts me that it will erase all data and i confirm, then it just takes me back to the menu without saying that format was completed.

when attempting to create the media folder-
i get a memory card error please try again

i get these errors everytime unless using the 64 mb card the phone came with.

any suggesstions?

thanks
not sure what to tell you. i run a 1gb and a 2gb. both work 75% of the time; the other 25% says "memory card error or no media folder".
there is no update for the phone yet. but i suggest if you're not using a Sandisk TF, get one. hands down the best...

help help help!!!

😕
😕
hi, I love my 610. Ive had it for about 7 months now. But someone please help me with a situation! I stuck a 1gb memory card in there and it wont save pics to it. I thought I corrupted the first one I bought, but being I work at a store that cells memory cards, I returned it for another card. but once again the card wont except anything on my phone. But it gets weirder than that. I move pics to the card from phone memory, even though it says there isn't any pics on the card, I can take it out, put it in my card reader, open it up. And the pics show up in the folder on my computer!!
So I know they are being saved to it, but my phone is not letting me see them. And even when I select Memory card in my albums, it beeps and says, car...

New to this and looking for Java help.

Hi,

I'm new to all this hi-tech phone business. My last phone made calls and sent texts....that's about it. So I was hoping someone might be able to help me with my new SPH-M610.

How can I install .jar/.jad files on my phone (or SD card?) to run on my phone. For example, I would like to install the Opera Mini browser, but don't know how. I'd like to do it via Bluetooth or the Data Cable (preferably not OTA), but I don't know where to save it, how to install it, and how to access it from my phone.

And i guess, after reading the forum, that the only way to use my own mp3s as alerts of ringtones will be to send it to myself OTA?

Does anyone have any recommendations on which 1GB or 2GB SD cards to get that are known to work wi...

2 questions

Is there a way to show the name only on the caller id instead of the name and number? Also is there a way to get a blank screen saver instead of the 4 or 5 on the phone? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I don't think you can and if you have a memory card, put a picture you would want (which I guess would be a solid color?) and put the picture on your memory card. Then go into tools>mass storage>file manager>memory card and find where you saved the pi...

USB Data Cable

So I have the M610 and I got one of the sprint stores to give me a usb data cable that they had left over but they didn't have a disc for it and I was wondering if there was a way off the internet to download the drivers or downloads so that it makes it able for me to access my memory card without having to turn off my phone and pulling out my battery if anyone can answer that that would be great. Please get back to me as soon as possible thanks.
you dont need software.

plug it in.

Receiving texts

I dunno if this is the phone, but when I get messages sent to me, I never get them. Recently I have been told that they sent something and I never replied, but I never got it. Most of my friends have Verizon and one has TMobile and I get the problem with both.
I've found the main problem with people not having their messages recieved or actually sent to the person that they are trying to send them to is that you have to put in the area code or the message never gets there. My friend was having the same prob...

largest TF card this will handle?

i have a 512 in mine, thats what the specs say is the largest "recommended", but has anyone tried a 1 or 2gb card in this phone?
I have owned the phone for 1 week. On page 32 of the M610 phone user guide provided by Sprint, it states, "the maximum storage size for a microSD memory card is 1Gb." But, I'm using a 2Gb Motorola microSD card (I purchased on Ebay for about $80 + $7...

Sprint Mobile Email on the M610

I am running sprint mobile email on my M610 and pulling email from Gmail and MSN. I have push and notify turned on. When an email comes in I am supposed to get an audible alert on my phone, but I do not. If the phone is open then a visual alert does show.

One quarter of sprint tech support says it should work and another quarter says the phone doesnt support it. (The other half of sprint tech support tells me to replace the string connecting my two cans.)

Does anyone have audible notifications from Sprint Mobile Email working on their M610?

Is there a third party application thru which I can accomplish this?
the only email i have seen that the notifications work with is the sprintpcs mail.

this has nothing to do with the email, but the fact that you can setup a notification from the sprint site.

this tells the email system to send you a text message...

Text Recieved - Font size

The text messages I recieve automatically display in zoom mode. Is there any means to have them display in what I would consider the normal mode. Only when I choose the "Zoom" option, does it revert back to the small text, which is much more user/reader friendly.

Thanks
How did you do that??? I don't like the normal mode!

I would like to enable zoom mode by default
Thanks!

real music ringtones

One of the biggest problems I have had with the 610 so far is that you cant set a ringtone from the memory card, that IMO is completely rediculous! How do you get music onto the onboard memory on the phone, I have tried uploaders none of which will upload a full song.
Does it upload part of the song? The only part that matters is the first 30 sec anyway =P

I haven't figured it out either. Everything goes right to the media player when you open the file. I can't even send files through email anymore (like on my PM-8200).

And it doesn't like it supports midi anymore.

Charging Problems...Please Let Me Know

I currently work for a indirect cell phone store and a lot of our customers seem to be having problems with the charging port in this phone. The problem seem to be that the charger doesn't fit properly into the phone's port, causing the customer to have to hold the charger into the port in order to recieve a charge. We are trying to figure out if this has been a problem with all of the phonesor if we just got a couple bad apples so please leave some feedback.. Thanks!!

M610 Questions

1) Under alerts, what does "1 minute beep" thing mean? What does it do?

2) I used to have Sanyo. I had different rings/alert sounds for incoming call, new voice message, new text msg--as I do on my M610. I preferred how the Sanyo would repeat the alert if I was away from my phone when I got it, with the original melody ringtone I had chosen for the specific alert. So far as I can tell with the M610, the most frequent reminder you can get of a new txt/voicemail is a reminder every two minutes, and in that case it's not even the original text msg. sound you selected, it's just some weak default beep--am I correct in concluding this?

Overall, I do enjoy the phone very much.
Thank you in advance for any help you all give.
1) I believe the 1 minute beep is for when you want to keep track of your minutes while on a call it will beep every minute.

2) Yeah you can set it to remind you but only with a beep every 2 minutes or so.
